Friend has never flown with guns (me neither) so I didn't know what to say.

Alaska Airlines DEN from/to Alaska

He's got a solid travel case to check, two ARs, PMAGs, he is not flying with ammo... are the 30 rounders going to be an issue at DEN?

Does it cause long delays? On on one side of the trip? Words of wisdom appreciated!

you need to build in time on the departure side of the trip.  when you declare the firearms at the check-in counter, they take you and the firearms to a TSA screening place for your gun cases.  It shouldn't add any time to getting your bags upon arrival.

Not a problem at all.

I just flew DEN - ATL and back the other week loaded down with an AR, mags, and tons of other stuff for a long range match.

Read up on the airline policies for traveling with a firearm and you'll be fine.
