I just recently moved into Douglas County myself and was looking for placed to shoot.  Unfortunately, I checked the BLM web-site and I can't see any BLM land in proximity to Douglas.  Atleast on the map they provide here: http://www.blm.gov/nhp/facts/maps/landsmap.html

I was planning on checking with the local office and seeing if they have a more detailed map that shows if there are any local areas.  I will let you know what I find.
