I started a thread HERE with some pics of my latest wheeling trip.  Anybody else want to post some pics?  Here's the pics if you don't want to click the linky BTW:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Took my Jeep up to Leadville a couple weeks ago.  this is at the top of Hagerman Pass just south west of Turquoise Lake.  This is right at about 12,000 feet so not too terribly high up but still plenty of snow.

By the way I got snowed on on the BirdsEye Gulch trail the next day.  Winter never really ends up there.

And here's one of the Jeep in BirdsEye Gulch shortly after the snow storm cleared out.

Anyway thought some of you might enjoy.

Jeff

Nice stuff. I may have to steal one or two for use on a Colorado related web page.

Cool.  You should have asked me to go.

I am still interested in going somewhere.  Ever been down near Silverton?

haha!  It was the whole family at our cabin.  It was interesting with 6 adults, 5 kids and 5 dogs all in a 4 bedroom cabin in Leadville.

I went to Ft Lewis in Durango for my first 2 years of college.  Love that area.

Looking down at that lake reminds me of Yankee Doodle Lake from "The Eye of the Needle" . I dont know if it's open anymore or not .

Avatar9265, your pics are pretty good.  That shot of the ptarmigan is excellent.  You clearly enjoy the cold more than I do, or at least you're more tolerant.

edit:  lookit that, you got post 223!
