Site Notices

So we talk about it a lot, and the Colorado site does it pretty regularly. But we haven't done an "official" AR15.COM Colorado shoot before. So how about it?

Let us know if you are intersted.

Let us know if you have a preferred spot to have the thing.

Let us know what dates you can make it. I'm thinking August or September. That will give us time to plan it, and get 'er done before the snow flies. And if it works out, we could and or should do such a thing on a regular basis. At least once a year.

Ideas? Suggestions? Now's the time.

Pawnee sounds interesting, I haven't been there yet but I have been to both of the COarfcom  locations for a handfull of shoots.

Mid to late September (if not early October) should be good for me. My wife should have a new job by then and stuff.

I I think an ARFCOM Colorado shoot would be great. If its in September could you try and make sure it doesn't conflict with the Tactical Resonse Carbine Course?

I'd be in but I either need lots of notice or we can't do it on a Saturday.  I have Sun through Tues off.

If it's in Sept and we get a firm date i can probably get the day off.

Goes without saying. I'd never fight for attendance with Yeager. (Not that I could.)

Pawnee is nearly Wyoming!

How about....somewhere in the middle, like Woodland Park

I know, I didn't make the last few.  The dog ate my homework...

Okay looks like there is enugh interest here, lets start picking some dates. I've heard lots of notice a couple of times so lets say September. (If there are no objections.) And for now, we'll assume a Saturday shoot day? Unless someone has another idea.

Option 1
September 3rd is a Saturday and the begining of Labor Day Weekend. We may want to avoid this due to the holiday, but its open for voting.

Option 2
September 10th is a Saturday and is the second Saturday of the month.

September 17th is off the table due to the Tactical Carbine class in Pueblo.

Option 3
September 24th is the last Saturday of the month.

Option 4
September 5th is a Monday, and is in fact Labor Day. I'll just throw this one in for another option.

I'll let this sit a day or two, and if there are no major objections to Saturdays, I'll post a poll or something to help fix a date.

The 10th and 17th is black powder deer season I will be hunting

That leaves the 24th if that is the day everyone picks I'm in.

I have Sun,Mon off but with enough notice I can make a saturday, or just bang in sick.

Any thoughts for somewhere in the middle of CO for us in the southern regions?

If anyone knows of a site in Central Colorado that might be good. Traditionally the Colorado site shoots at Pawnnee for North shoots and Woodland Park for South shoots.

Any suggestions for alternate sites are welcome.

How about Harris Park, north of Bailey? It's hard to arrange a shot past 150 yards, but it is relatively central.

FWIW , I may not be able to particapate My wife got laidoff last night , So we are back To surrvival mode ...again . High Tek Sucks .

The Bailey area might not be too bad an area for those of us on the western slope. The Grasslands, while a great place, would be a heck of a drive for us.

I'm beginning to think it might be tough for me to make it. Sept. 17 would likely be the best weekend for me, but it's pretty well out. Too late in the month and I'll be preping for deer/elf season in Oct.

regulation states for elk the round must be .24 (6mm) caliber or larger, expanding bullet of 85 grains, and 1,000 lbs of energy at 100 yards, not sure what to use for elf?

If we should have one in late September because two of Arfcom's famous or should I say infamous New York members will be coming out here to shoot prairie dogs and we might be able to make a Colorado Arfcom Shoot.

the Godfather and his family are coming this way?  omg

pawnee is out of the question too freakin far for everyone.. thats why we don't usually go there anymore (we go up near Lyons now).

thats what really sucks around here.. no real nice place we can go that's central to everyone.

No silly. For Elves, its Elf Bowling. And to get the maximum velocity on your bowling ball, you need one of these:

Sept. 10th at Pawnee sounds good.

I would like to participate but weekends are tough. Not impossible though if it were closer to the Front Range than the Grasslands.

I guess I am not much help but wanted to tag the thread and give it a bump.

Sept. 11th is the dragon man shoot.

Sept. 17th is the CO ar15 site shoot

So how about Sept. 24th? As far as a place to shoot Harris park would be a good place as well as Woodland park or St. Vrain canyon.

I am posting on behalf of the CO ar15 site to try and get as many as we can to attend so let me know what all of you think about the 24th.

I just found out that the 24th is clean up day at Harris park so that wont work. I will also be going up to help with the clean up since I do shoot there often. If anybody else can come and help it would be appreciated. We are going to meet at about 9am.  The forest service is closing down ranges left and right because of trash so we are trying to keep this one open.
