Guys,

I have a buddy out that way looking for a place to shoot.
I know he usually drives all the way down to San Isabel NF to shoot up near Weston Pass...obviously, thats a long damn drive to put a few downrange.

Anbody care to chime in on something a little more local to Westminster?
Outdoors in the woods would be great, but any advice on private ranges would greatly be appreciated as well.

He shoots mostly handgun calibers, and .22LR, so a short range would probably do just fine.
If I can get him signed up here, Im sure that first AR is only a matter of time

Thanks in advance

Must it be outdoor/free?  There are a few indoor ranges in the Denver area that he could use.  If he wants outdoor, try these links.  Karl.

Outdoor and free would be great, but a good private range may be ok, depending on the rates.
I know we have places out here that run $35 a year, while others run $500 a year...if there is a good range that is on the cheap end, that would prob suit by buddy best...he isnt super hardcore yet, just an occasional hobby shooter.

Thanks for the info, that site looks like a good sourrce of info.

I only have personal knowledge of one.  That's why I gave those links.  Those threads give a lot more info.  The Shootist is kinda near him, is indoor, and doesn't require membership.  I have no clue what the hourly rates are though but I think there are annual memberships available that make it cheaper.  He'd have to call.

They may be pistol only, but I think 22 rifles may be OK.  They let me shoot a full auto UZI there and it's pretty hard to find indoor ranges that allow that especially in the Denver area.  Good luck.  Karl.
