The wife and I have been thinking of downsizing and moving to the Ft. Collins area.  While looking at houses for sale on www.coloproperty.com I notice there are a huge number of nice and inexpensive houses for sale in the Livermore area.  Anybody know why?  Is this a case of people moving to the mountains and discovering that mountain living is a pain in the ass?

I think you got it.  There were a lot of houses built there in the last 10 years by people who were planning on commuting to Fort Collins.  I know people who live there and it can be a real problem getting around in the winter.

Exactly, the turnover rate among mountain commuters can be up to 25%, especially those that have kids who are involved in school activities.
