Hello,

Are there any public outdoor ranges with steel targets?  I think Tacoma Sportsman's has a gong at 190ish yards, any other ranges out there with steel targets?

It doesn’t meet the definition of “public” because the steel targets are limited to members who have “qualified”, but Renton Fish & Game has steel targets that can be placed at the 200yd line.

Why do all western WA ranges suck ass like this? Not a single decent Tactical style range or one with longer range steel targets that doesn't have retarded rules or membership rewuirements.

Western Washington in general sucks for so many reasons, it’s impossible to find a good public range, and there’s no open space out in the woods anymore

You pretty much have to drive over the mountains to Eastern Washington if you want a decent range with some distance and steel targets.  

Every established range out here is mediocre at best.  The spots in the woods are ok, but people trash them and you're lucky if you can get 100 meters from muzzle to the backstop.  Good luck if you want to shoot steel at 500 meters on this side of the mountains.

Anywhere Ive gone to shoot in the woods there's high probability someone inconsoderate or borderline dangerous  shows up. I deal with it accordingly, but I know these types show up at ranges too

Some of the rules are just stupid but I bet it was a result of an idiot.

Hell the indoor range in marysville burned down because some dummy fired tracers despite the explicit rule: NO TRACERS! There really are complete fucking morons out there that ruin it for everyone.

That range is run by two idiot brothers.  One in particular must have a very small penis because he's always on a power trip.  He took a weapon out of the owner's hands and walked them outside to their car because the weapon wasn't cased or holstered.  He would have been unconscious if it had been my weapon.  Could have just instructed them to turn around.  Same guy claims to have trained FBI agents how to shoot.  I'm not saying everyone who needs to carry 10mm has a small penis, but in his case the reason is obvious.  Too bad the owner of the range allows these two guys so much latitude.
