Excellent video, the failures, and causes plain as day...should be mandatory study material for every WA. state high school student.

The Fight for the Soul of Seattle | A KOMO News Documentary

I was just driving around downtown and Capitol Hill today

More than the usual homeless what stood out was every single person wearing a mask even when jogging by themselves, walking on the sidewalk, pumping gas. Not just inside a store  etc.

I have not seen any sort of fear like that anywhere else in the state

Born and raised in Seattle. Just like the first documentary, this one went flaccid as well. I refuse to give failure, drug addicted, mentally ill people my tax dollars. A fancy dry out facility is such a cop out. The cheap, simple answer is to enforce the law. Who cares if jail populations rise? We already spend more trying to "help" them than the cost of locking them up each year. Jailing these few thousand will cost less annually than another greedy, perpetual government agency and facility. Many will simply overdose or die from other choices before getting jailed. There is no way that any of the crazy, druggy, bums will ever be net contributors to society. Even if they reform. Also, I have no idea what the part about the failed rapper kid was about. He had a supportive family, etc. if he can't make it, how could one of the real fail jobs? So sick of the kid glove approach to dealing with problem. Everyone knows drugs are addictive and will, generally speaking, ruin your life. Dump them into Puget Sounds for all I care. This city used to be wonderful.

Any addict "intervention" is doomed to failure without them driving the decision to change course. Their obsession is their life. The best & only solution is natural consequences. Let the aftermath of their decisions fall on them. Homeless, cold, & wet in Seattle, & refuse to relent? Well, there ya go. See ya in the Spring - if you make it.

Change occurs when the pain exceeds the need. Thus, I say, let the pain flow through them. They'll either turn it around or break. Either way, they own it. Society needs to divorce itself from this segment, or else get dragged down into the cesspool. There is no middle ground "balance". Nature is the best teacher for such individuals. Let it run its course.

The only interdiction the smelly ones want are safe injection sites.

Do not forget-detroit is the blue state endgame. There is no way around that.

Exactly! Detroit is a hell hole. One of the reasons we left Michigan , to only land in a communist run state. Washington needs to get its shit together... The east side should split off if Inslee keeps this shit up..... I've never seen such utter hate for ones fellow man before moving here and dealing with wet side libtards. And that's saying a lot as I'm a white boy from the Detroit area....

I was born and raised in the East Bay of California, left in 06. I got stationed here in WA in 2013. I cannot believe the speed at which this state has flipped and gone blatantly insane since I have been here.
The fucked up thing is that I am tired of moving and had decided to set up permanent shop before everything went completely nuts.

I vowed to never move back to CA but finding myself stuck in it again.

Californians just keep coming here because it's cheap (compared to CA).

Washington politicians don't want that gravy train to stop, gotta make sure the Californians have the laws in place that they want before they will move here. God knows all the Californians moving to ID/MT are either moving there to be left the fuck alone or will soon be complaining about how all the local rednecks can do this or that which was illegal to do in CA, and they will get the laws changed to suit them. They have the time and money to lobby for it.

My newest neighbor just bought in from CA. Don't know anything about the guy yet, we'll see.

About a year ago I was flying home from working in CA and listened to a group of people that were flying up to look at real estate. They were all going to shop for property in Gig Harbor, right where I live. The temptation was so great to blurt out to this group of strangers that they better not be moving to my state to fuck it up like they did to theirs, but it's already well underway

Only partially joking when I say the only thing missing is an In-N-Out. They used to say they would never venture outside of CA because they couldn't get fresest ingredients. Well the movement of Californians demanded In-N-Out and they now have locations in Colorado and Utah.

It is not running from anything.

The human terrain and political terrain in Western Washington work against Conservatives.

I consider it a tactical retreat to friendly lines.

You can continue to live in Western Washington if you wish, but they will continue to treat you like shit and make things progressively worse for you.

They still need you here to take your taxes in order to fund their Socialist fantasies.

All you are to them is a sub-human tax cow that they can bleed and milk to death while living under their totalitarian/authoritarian control and continuous police-state/social-credit surveillance state.

I refuse to live like that...life is too damned short and precious.

They are so fucking proud of themselves for even thinking about their "unhoused neighbors". They don't even need to do anything. They tell their friends at dinner parties how passionate they are and feel no remorse as they step over them in the park.

We really need to divide the state into two. East Side hates West Side and vice versa. They have fucked this state so bad, it used to be they would just come over and be tourists, now their buying up everything over here. They buy land here for less, and then spread their views on how we should live. I was working in Winthrop prior to the election and never seen so many Biden/Harris signs. When I grew up here those would have been set on fire or shot with shotguns. Talking the those who have been here since childhood hate it how they come in and change everything.

Burn baby, burn. No matter how high the bodies & shit pile up, there won't be any insight. It's the characteristically cheap, uninvolved virtue signaling that typifies all hard left societies. They just pat themselves on the back while not lifting a finger for anyone but themselves. They'll vote for their own destruction.

I'm just gonna sit back & watch.

Blue Spokane & Whitman counties (I-1639 said it) would fly the East side soup. Otherwise, it would be GTG.

Whitman is only blue due to WSU, I think Spokane may come back or at least break even. They are flies in the ointment though, but I don’t think it is not something that can’t be overcome.

If the population keeps increasing because of people fleeing blue areas that they screwed up, it will happen. I think much of the trouble that is to come will result from Federal top down policy. Funds will be withheld if X isn't implemented. Like how they threatened to withhold Federal highway money if States didn't raise drinking age to 21. Just much, much more anti-liberty.

Also, I do not see why we should surrender prime areas of the country to the left. Every one person who moves is one less person we have to make a stand. Eastern Washington farmers do benefit from Western Washington port access to sell their crops and losing that would suck for their economic output. I split time between both halves of the state. The entire Washington is my home. My family has owned business and lived on both sides of the state since the 1800's.

I'll be evacuating to ID as well. Have the property already, just need to get things in order, sell our house here and build there. I'm not a WA native, so I don't feel any ties to the state. I spent many years in NE WA and I find N ID to be very similar though the people I've met in ID are much nicer.

I bet you once thought CA was a far away problem until it moved in next door. Migrants from CA & WA are currently heading to ID, because reasons. Nothing is static. You might get lucky & die before ID "transitions" in similar fashion to the migrants moving in there also. Boise will lead the way, I think.

It doesn't matter.
You're correct, Master_Blaster...nothing is static.

Look at nature.
In Africa during the rainy season, hippo's and crocodiles find/establish fresh territory in the new waterholes created by the rains.
Months thereafter, those same waterholes become isolated and dry up.
Those same hippo's and croc's that jealously guarded the waterholes cannot move across vast expenses of dry/hot land and eventually die off.

What did the birds do?
They didn't own nor guard the waterholes like the hippo's and croc's.
But they don't care...they simply fly away and find a fresh waterhole somewhere else.

For myself, I am a big fan of James Wesley Rawles.
Vote with your wallet and vote with your feet...survival often requires mobility...a basic tenet of Rawlesian survival tactics.
Keep a close watch upon the human and political terrain of your AO.
The minute it starts to turn against you...leave and go somewhere else that favors your position.
If that means another state, fine; if that means another country, so be it.

The best way to not get yourself killed in a fight is to avoid it altogether.
Being obstinate and belligerent in the face of overwhelming opposition who hate you and want you dead is simply illogical and irrational...hyper-emotional/type-A personality stupidity.
It is a Bibical concept as well...the Jews of Israel moved away many times when faced with overwhelming opposition bent upon genocide.
Use your brain...not your emotions. Emotional decisions are more often than not bad decisions.

IMO, America is the only place in the world to run to, & it's running out of "sane" retreats. You can run until you can't. I know, because I tried. Parasites consume the host, then abandon it & move on to the next healthy one.

America is being consumed, & the remaining functional, healthy states are on the menu.

Nope, never thought that about CA at all.
Escaped CA for WA in 2003 thanks to a job transfer and watched WA get ruined by the same ilk of politicians that ruined CA.
My plan was always to end up in ID, MT or WY. And I was able to retire to ID this summer.
Actually living in ID and meeting the “migrants” from CA & WA
Has shown me that the vast majority are conservatives escaping from CA & WA.
Their “reasons” being they enjoy freedoms in ID not available in WA or CA.
Boise in fact, became redder after the elections.

I am getting close to retirement myself.
I think the key here is when you do retire, don't just sit on your ass and do nothing.
Get involved in your community now that you have the time.
Get involved politically, get involved in your church, synagogue, neighborhood, town, county, schools, wherever.

That's the problem with Conservatives...they're mostly passive and apolitical and want to be left alone.
Those days are long gone now and we cannot afford such a mindset any more.
Politics suck...but we MUST get involved n matter how much we hate it.

So find a bastion of Conservatism somewhere and actively work to conserve and preserve it.

I think Western Washington is lost because even though we saw this coming decades ago, we didn't do much to stop it.

And Seattle is a festering pile of communistic cancer, that's metastasizing to cities throughout WA.

I bet you once thought CA was a far away problem until it moved in next door. Migrants from CA & WA are currently heading to ID, because reasons. Nothing is static. You might get lucky & die before ID "transitions" in similar fashion to the migrants moving in there also. Boise will lead the way, I think.

The R candidate took Ada County by a 3.9% margin. For now.

But he took it, what gains did the R’s make in WA?

Let's no play obtuse. Right now isn't really what matters. You understand trends, do you not? You see what's happening? Were the vote margins in ID always this tight? Sand hole head containers may be "safe spaces" for the mind, but they don't beat reality.

Cancer metastasizes. It's what it does. Old school ID regs have an opportunity window. They can seize it, or just thumb their noses at the L coast & ignore it. Meanwhile, L coast weenies just keep coming in with their money & numbers. Like big bro communist China, they're about slow, persistent inevitability.

In Nov. 2013, 38.2% of registered voters identified as Republican, while registered Democrats made up 7.6% of voters.

Almost six years later, Republicans now have 50.8% of total registered voters in Idaho, an increase of 12.6%. The number of registered Democrats this year is now at 12.7%, up by 5.1% from 2013.

The number of registered Republicans in Idaho has grown by over 206,000 in the last six years and there are only about 52,000 more registered Democrats in Idaho.

These changes show that the state's population growth is only leading to an increasingly Republican-leaning Idaho.

I hope it stays that way.

Good, let the Californians come buy our houses.

I'm working on getting my wife on board with abandoning WA and moving to FL.

I don't think Inslee's lockdowns will ever go away.

I told her that our 5 year old boy already had lost a year of his life to Inslee. No pool, less camping because of delayed opening of campgrounds, no youth sports happening, no summer camps that were worth a damn (here in Clark County). Fewer friends because some of our neighbors are so paranoid about Coronavirus that we haven't seen them or their kids since March pretty much.

Thankfully we got our son one of the last slots in a private school, otherwise he would have been at home, bored most of the time. So that would have been a lost year of schooling.

No dining out.

Hardly any recreation and if you do, the Mask Cultists give you the stink eye.

No winter skiing because much of it is a pain in the ass to try to organize (we need introductory training).

The list goes on and on.

Ship em all to Macneill Island. There are unused facilities there. Why do we have to build something new?
