Almost ran into a spike and a cow waaaay lower in elevation than I expected, saw lots of deer and hundreds of turkeys. Laughed at all the bow hunters hunting higher elevations, heard some bugles while setting up my game camera and baiting it with apples.

No grouse or bears were shot though :-(

Probably, I'm not sure who was more surprised me or the elk when I came flying around the corner on the logging road and the elk were trotting down the road towards me.
