Honestly our silencer rule is goofy as hell. I'm pretty sure you're okay.

Has anybody actually been charged and/or convicted of using a legally registered silencer in the state in the last 20 years?

I've been told no. Some "Guy at the range" was telling me about some guys in spokane actually TRYING to get arrested using silencers (in front of cops at the range I guess) so they could challenge the whacky law.
Not something I'd personally try, and this was of course  "Guy at the range" 18th hand info.

I think it really sucks when the state government agencies like SWAT, Fish & Wildlife etc can use or do something like silencers, but the public that pays for their existance cant use the same.  I grew up in a similar state, Minnesota,  which citizens cant have silencers but the DNR and police can So I left MN behind and then later left Washington behind after my Fort Lewis service and headed south to a nutfarm of a state called Oregon, but at least I can have my toys and hunt with them too.  Good thing though at least WA lets you buy silencers, unlike MN.
