Does anyone else keep track of how many kids come to your door on Halloween? I've done it for years.
First ones showed up about 6:30pm. By 7:00 the count was a little over 50. Final tally for the night (no bullshit).... 106!!!  Slightly less than last year... 116, iirc... |

we live off Union Hill Road, up a 150 yard gravel driveway, wooded, no lights on teh driveway. Zero guests, just the way we like it. |

15 years ago we'd get 60-100 kids on Halloween. Times sure have changed.

12?? Halloween is quickly becoming an adult holiday. I also cringe when holidays like this come on weekends. It turns into amateur night; don't want to be on the roads.

We went out in the boonies for a party, but by the frazzled look the dog had upon our return, I'm guessing every kid in the neighborhood rang the doorbell. |

We got about a dozen or so......I think they all went to PatchO's place....they went through 6 bags of candy. and that was before I got there.

I didn't get any. I guess some parents are smart enough to teach their kiddles to stay away from creepy old men in rv's. Most of what I saw were at least 16 y/o "children". I took my grandkids to a mall. Never did that before. It was kinda fun. Great watching them have a ball. Good people watching, too. Sorta like a Walmart, only everyone was a greeter.

We got one group of three age appropriate kids dressed up and another group of my children's heathen, teen friends who we gave candy to anyway. It is my luck that I got two big bags of stuff no one in my family likes so we wouldn't eat it all before Halloween

These kids don't know how to have a good time on Halloween anymore.
We used to go through at least five dozens eggs, EACH! Damn good time. Once in a while one or two of us would get caught by the cops, not me. We'd be watching from a distance while the cops made them hold their arms out to their sides and the cops would then "pat" them down. Then they were free to go. Of course they were standing there dripping in egg goo from all the broken eggs in their pockets. Cops were laughing their ass off as they drove away.

For the 19th consecutive year we had 0, and I'm beginning to think that rumor that my wife heard about the crazy guy who shoots his guns at all times of the day and night and has people bring all sorts of dead animals to his house might have something to do with it.

2. I live in the sticks now sorta. neighbor kids from across the road.
Hit 480 around 1999 when we lived in town. Made a candy run and still ran out. lights out at 2130 that night. We always got 350-400 while living there. |

Dunno if they showed but the party next door got real quiet an hour later and he did quit knocking. Then the drunken yoots hit the street in front and started a 15-20 person fight. I checked on it but my car was parked in the rear of the house and most of them deserved the asswhuppings. I hate this town.

I am in the middle of a pretty crowded residential neighborhood, but I still don't need signs to get the job done. It stated really warm later into the year then usual. So the leaves took longer to turn and fall this year. I have 3 trees in my front yard, and this year 95% of their leaves fell off last week, before halloween. Combine this with the fact I have not yet cleaned up some falled tree limbs from our last big windstorm, the front yard and sidewalk looked like the place had been abandoned and was a haunted house. Branches across the walkway, no visible conrcrete path because of thousands of leaves... It did the job.
