and I see a rollback tow truck go flying by. I figure seeing a tow truck on the sand had to mean there was something awesome in his direction so I followed.. about a mile south of Klipsan I spotted this..
 Recovery video to come shortly.. it needs to be compressed and uploaded. Apparently some kids from out of town were just getting done with a highschool grad party, and decided drunk truck surfing would be cool  It was all fun till they hit that giant hole. |

There are lots of vehicles buried under the sand from just idling on the wet sand. Combine that with waves lapping at the tires an an inattentive driver and it's all over but the cussing. There aren't too many holes on the beach because the surf fills them in twice a day.

The comment from the tow truck driver was something to effect of "No one is hurt.. yet" Havn't got a chance to get the video going.. but they basically took a backhoe to it, smashed the tailgate window and a rear quarter window and wrapped a chain around the pillar, and lifted it out with the backhoe. You definitely won't find me near the surf. |
