it was a nice score for sure … I upgraded the scope a little and added the legs, sling. and shell holder.
I picked up (3) crates of this last years for my Garand … so there should be plenty to go around.

That's the one you ringed the barrel on last year, right? Usually you can clear a squib round easy with another live round but that one was one in a million, right?

both are “Service Grade” … I ordered the two of them more than a year ago; (1) for myself, and (1) for a friend, as he owns a HR and wanted a SA too! I kept the one with the darker finish; and the prices have not change since I bought them.
SERVICE GRADE: (Good to Very Good) Service Grade Rifles show less wear and better appearance than Field or Rack Grades. Good to very good condition. Rifle wear will be exhibited by worn and mixed colors of the parkerized finish; there may be some minor pitting on the metal parts; wood will be either Walnut, Birch, Beech or other variety and will be basically sound but may have minor hairline cracks, dings, scratches and gouges; wood may not match in color or type of wood; bores will be generally good with only minor imperfections; the barrel crown may be nicked, but the muzzle will gauge less than 3 and the throat erosion will gauge less than 5.

Im on there site right now CMP about to order one, how long did it take to get a service grade and are they in good shape, they appear to be?

how long did it take to get a service grade their web-site and all email correspondence say … Please allow 60-120 days for delivery … but from the day I mail out my notarized paperwork ‘Application’ via USPS … to the time I received the pair of Garands via overnight FedEx was 34 days in total.
