I heard that WA FFL dealers are not legally required to do paperwork or a background check when a WA resident buys a rifle. Is this correct?

I was always under the impression that only private-party sales in WA do not involve paperwork.

Every rifle I have ever purchased from an FFL, required paperwork.

Purchase of a rifle from a dealer in WA requires a form 4473 and a NICS background check. Spell your name right, and pass the NICS check, and you go home with the rifle the same day.

If you buy a rifle at Walmart, they even give you a little parade through the store.
