I'll have some presents for those who show up for the Girl Friend shoot.
(That means I am going) Went to the range this afternoon to play with some new gun show toys. I shot a few rounds off, I had to turn the range light on.    This is the first time in a long time that an AR15 I assembled really messed up. It's having failure to extract problems. I forgot to bring the spare bolt assembly, but I did change out the extractor spring and the little blue thingie with a rubber doughnut, no joy. It's extracting the round, but it's not ejecting them out of the gun. Next step is to replace the entire bolt/carrier assembly with a known good one, then to replace the spring and the buffer.  Anyways, I have all day tomorrow to mess around and blow it up. |

Iwould love to get some shooting in at GF tomorrow.....I've got to sight in my AR...replaced the scope and mount with a A2 carry handle..... a new build Yugo AKM to test, and a 12 guage shotgun to try out. But.......I'm Elder on duty tomorrow at Church...and that ties me up till around 1pm.

BBQ some steaks for dinner - in work  possible start of cleaning new Garand - Not till next week The Fulton carrier is AFU. Swapped it out with the Fulton that works, no problems, swapped it out with the Bushmaster spare, no problems. It's going back to Fulton on Monday.  The one in my Mega/Oly works 5.0. Spent a half hour checking it out and recleaning it. Found the extractor spring to be about two spring turns shorter than the Oly/Bushmaster spares I have. Replaced that. Found that the charging handle was binding, filed that down. Tried the spare Bushmaster bolt/carrier assembly, it slides in a lot smother, same goes for the Fulton assembly in the Mega/Oly lightweight. Heading on over to the range to try it out, all three bolt/carriers headspace out between all three guns, so I will probably end up swapping parts around if it still has problems. |
