It looks like hwy20 heads out to the sticks.  Any gravel pits or decent places to pull off the road and shoot?

I would go south on Hwy 9 about 10 miles, DNR road on left with a pit 1/4 mile up that road.

East on 20 to Baker Lake road, 1st left onto forest service rd (no number but well gravelled), you'll pass by an abandoned shot up little p/u.   Continue up, take 1st right onto another well gravelled road, keep left and you end up at about 1400 ft elv.  50-60 yds of range.  Not long but good 'nuff for sight in and plinking.
