It is staying cold in my AO all the rain is coming down as snow, but if it warms up then things could really get wet.

Kind of hard to surf porn and masterbate with that big open window and no blinds....

What do I look like? A rookie? Similar view out all windows..... no neighbors within that close of range. Blinds are for women. |

Pretty much all waterfront property withing 2-300 ft of a body of water in LCR, (likely identical elsewhere) is blanketed by what FEMA calls "Zone A", which translates in to 'flood hazard zone'. (requireing flood insurance by financial institutions, etc.). There are maps that show Zone A readily available at the Building Dept., and my own first impressions are that FEMA knows something about 'CYA', (cover your ass). They didn't leave much room for liability on their part, but they did leave plenty on the taxpayers part.
One can obtain a L.O.M.A., (Letter of Map Amendment), from FEMA in any case where a property owner wishes to dispute the zoning. (kinda like guilty until proven innocent). Surveyors can provide an Elevation Certificate at the property owners expense, and then the legal mumbo jumbo and papercut hurdles..... wal-la..... 3-4 months later, you can get any buildings within parameters removed from Zone A. However, you will NEVER get the land removed from the zone...... they make the rules..... ya know? |

Is that a Trident sub and a shark fin? Time to make popcorn! The elk are NEVER gonna believe this shit!! |
It's LOOTIE!!!, 'bout time he showed up with the brewskies!!!
not much a fisherman are ya
besides that looks big enough for ski-doo in that there creek BTW nice veiw even when creatures that are good eatin come around |
The creek is the Chehalis River, (the one that dumps out in Aberdeen). This time of year would be fun to float it, but you'd freeze your willy off. Sometimes I have someone drop me off up river and float back down to the house..... lots of fun, but late Spring is the best time for that. Next time I do, I'll be looking out for ol' Lootie! |
Are you downstream or upstream from 1GR? |
It's gone down a little, and is much more clear. When it looks like dark chocolate milk and there's whole trees, with rootwads and all, floating by, THAT'S when you want to see it. Damned erie, and the sound alone can make ya nervous..... can't wait! |
1GR lives on the Newaukum River which dumps in to the Chehalis way downriver from me. See here, my house is near the left red triangle, and his is near the right one. |

You need to burn your house down and move from there to let nature and stinky hippies take their natural course...
no no no, don't waste it. You need to have an "apocalypse" party. The end days have come, the flood waters are rising and we don't know anyone with an ark, so let's drink! Lootie will provide the booze. Bring your own if you mind piss-beer. |

Neither. |
True but that doesn't keep the water from making islands during the flood, the water is coming over the road here. |
I just left his place a while ago, and he isn't kidding.... it's definitely worse. Hopefully he'll take a pic tomorrow and you'll get his 'island' reference. A large portion of his yard is underwater, and he now is the prowd owner of a decent sized island.
He should go out on his deck and have you snap some pics. |
Those pics would be pretty cool! But he'll need a raft/boat to get to the deck right now |

Someone check on OdT and make sure the bamboo stalk he's breathing through isn't plugged up?
Seattle Nears Rainy-Day Record
You cleared out the brush? I thought bigscrun did that? |
Your grass is looking good in those pics 1GR. Do you need someone to come and do some donuts in it to bring it back down to government standards?
Good shape. The river crests here much sooner than it does down river. Since I took the last pic, it never got any higher, and it's already much closer to the levels in the second pic now. The show is over. Now, if we could get a real storm, things could get interesting. |

You can get real-time hydraulic info for most W. Washington rivers from this site:
USGS River Info Just use the pull-down under "Predefined displays" to select your river or region. Trey |

Cool link! Handy. Looks like, according to the graph on this page, that I took the photo right at high water. I've seen much worse out here, but not in a few years. Like 1GR said, when we get a big rain with warm weather right after a snow, then it gets interesting. Many large trees will go by, lots of whitecaps, and the water is damned near the color of a hershey bar. WoOt! |

Damn Guys, all this talk makes me miss home even more
We had some rain here, not much but just enough, standing water everwhere every kind of mud you could imagine, bad enough tanks, bradleys, 5 ton, and M998s got stuck, so did I. All of our tents flooded, luckily we live in old Iraqi army biuldings which are bilt on a concrete pad. I like mud in WA, not in Iraq |
