Ok..who doesn't have one?  Now I'm sure you've all heard the old song and dance about how it takes a pile of money to shoot IPSC/USPSA (aka practical or action pistol shooting).....and by the way...its not true...it doesn't.  But for those of you who've got an 1911 and have always thought that action pistol looked interesting....there's something that's going to happen Jan 2006 that you may be interested in.

The USPSA has decided to create a new division called Single Stack Division targeted (sorry for the pun) at people who own/shoot 1911's.  Rules for the new division are located here!.  There are clubs all over the puget sound area that hold weekly matches (from Shelton to Custer).  My only warning.....watch out because this can become very addicting!  I started out in 1993 because it looked like something fun to do...and now look at me! ;)

The rules for the division are pretty simple, basic modification to the gun are allowed.  Allied equipment (holster, mag carriers) are to be very simple and worn behind the centerline of the shooter...basically any "carry" type holster wil be legal.

USPSA is a VERY safe sport and there are many safety checks in place to insure it.  While it may appear that shooters are running on the edge of being safe, they're not.  Before you can shoot, you must pass a "safety check" or be able to show proof that you're proficient with a firearm.  General USPSA Pistol rules are here if you're interested.

If you need more info....fire away.

What's with all the reloads?  My Limited qualified gun holds 17+1 of 40 S&W (18 in the mags if I really push hard.)  Or is it really an Limited 10?

You're right...it's Limited 10 not Limited. I didn't want to confuse the issue....obviously you know the difference between the two!
