I've done YEARS of work gratis for LE and related. I've fixed guns for them online, on the phone and on the range. I've never asked for a dime over the cost of parts I didn't have on hand, A lot of you have had the same treatment for the same reason, you might actually have to use the damn thing some day and I'd hate for it not to work and you to get hurt.

I've told you all that it's about karma. I recently experienced the good karma and would again like to thank that person. He reaffirmed my faith in the species.

I don't want to think about all the time I've spent on the range with them (LE) teaching and demonstrating rifle techniques and tactics. I remember back in the day, right after North Hollywood went down, the first rifle class afterwards was FULL. All but one was LE. And who was there on the sidelines with tool box in hand? Who gave "detail" classes at breaks and lunch covering everything from proper magazines to useful modifications? Who would get pulled in from watching his girlfriend train to give pick up classes to new riflemen, most of whom were local LE?

To sit here and take these snide little comments "oh not you" puhfuckinglease is intolerable. I wasn't a gun whore when I worked in the industry and don't plan to work in it again because of all the slimy unethical shitbags that make their money there. Not much work for me there tho, seems everyone now has rifles that function. Wasn't much interest in the "drills" last time. Was a lot of work, especially for P47CAS who hauled all the props back by himself.  I've been sticking to working with my guys on the side.

Standing around drinking with a bunch of armed guys doesn't have the same allure as my average weekend. Least most of those weekends I'm standing around drinking with party girls and hot tubbing. I sort of got all "cold and wetted" out a long time ago.

Gotta head to the shop, got another barrel to remove and have threaded for a friend of a friend down PDX way. Apologies for the "mystery" there but I've always called that "discretion."
