Defensive Shooting Class to be held at LRG on Sunday Oct 28.

Dick Reinheimer, NRA Instructor, IDPA competitor, and graduate of many shooting schools.

Start time 8:30 am

Lecture/Talk @ 1.5 hrs

To range 10:00

Lunch 12:00—1:00

Range 1:00---5:00


The course material will be a primer on defensive handgun fundamentals. It will be suitable for all levels of skill.

The course will be appropriate both for the person interested in defensive shooting and those whose primary focus is competitive shooting.

Subjects covered:

           Grip

           Stance

           Trigger control

           Getting gun to target from ready position

           Holster skills

           Defensive accuracy

           Reloads

           Multiple shots

           Multiple targets

           Malfunctions

           If time permits; an intro to cover/concealment



Course requirements:



           Persons who are well versed in safety

           Handgun of at least 9mm or .38 special (although the primary focus will be on auto loading handguns)

           Strong side holster

           2 spare magazines with mag pouches or speed loaders

           400—500 rounds of ammo (no hollow points; as they damage steel)

           Eye and hearing protection

           Concealment garment—optional
