Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - What are the laws about selling a handgun to someone in the state.

For money reasons I may need to sell some of my handguns.  Do I have to go through a FFL if I am selling one to a friend that I work with or my brother.  In other words, if I know they currently own handguns and have a CCW licence, can I just do a face to face sell?

For a handgun it must go through an FFL.

That is what I thought but I have never sold one privately.  Usually I just trade them in for something else at the dealer.
