Does the NRA Nat'l Gun Collectors Show & Conference have anything of interest to the Cruffler (C&R FFL)?
It is being held this year in W. Springfield, MA as part of a regular gun show at the Eastern States Exposition (aka "Big E") on October 4&5. The promoter claims that it is the NRA's Annual National Firearm Show that was formerly held in Monroeville, PA. Hoping that some fellow Crufflers have visited the show in PA and can educate us here in the Northeast?
Although the promoter claims that 1300 tables are available and that this will be combined with their normal Firearm & Knife Show + the Winchester Arms Collectors Assn show + the Marlin Firearm Collectors Assn, they typically get only ~1/2 the advertised tables filled at a given MA gun show. [Largely since non-FFLs are generally prohibited from having a table in MA due to our asinine laws, most handguns (including C&Rs) can't be sold by an 01 FFL to anyone in MA (not a problem for 03s to buy/sell, again due to asinine laws), and the State along with BATF has gone around closing down most 01 FFLs in the state (we only have ~400 left).]
So, I'm wondering . . .
- What's so special about this NRA part of the show?
- Although the title implies a "conference", what does the conference offer? And how much do they charge NRA members to attend the "conference"?
NOTE: There was no mention of this event that I could find in the American Rifleman for September!
