This forum is a great idea.  Hopefully it will promote more black rifle get togethers.

Hello Fellow Pennsylvanians and SEPA members ! Glad to see we have a place here to call our own. Hopefully we can plan some nice get together's.

Those of us in the South Eastern part of the state can consider ourselves lucky we can include the surrounding Tri State area's of Delaware and New Jersey possible meet and get together states also.

Thanks to 1Gunrunner and all the others for making this easier to happen .

Checking in from the burbs of Philadelphia, SEPA.  Met DavidC and Princeton at the shoot up near Reading last spring, and look forward to meeting many more members in the near future.  By the way David, I went and checked out the Falls Township club this summer.  I was really impressed with the facility, and was even going to pay their steep initiation fee to join until I attended their new members meeting, where they began covering the clubs rules, at which point they revealed that you can only load five rounds at a time.  That was enough for me.  I got up and immediately left.  If I can’t shoot the way that I want, then I’ll take my money elsewhere.  Thinking of joining up at BCF&G again.  I just hate the 45 min drive up there.  There is just no good way to get across Bucks County.

Screw Falls Township Rifle and Pistol. Those bastards kicked me out for breaking their stupid 5 round rule. And the kicker is I only fired 6 rounds ! The board of directors is  more into how much money the club has in the bank and getting off on their "authority" then they are about shooting.

If you want to join a good range in souhern Bucks county look into Langhorne Rod and Gun. No round limit. Shoot as much as you want as fast as you want. I joined there after falls threw me out. They have all the same stuff falls has except for the indoor pistol range.

Hey Philadelphia_GunMan,
Thanks for the tip.  I have actually shot trap up there several times, but was kind of leery of asking about the acceptance of the evil black rifle and rate of fire issues after the warm reception up at Falls Twp.  Do you need someone to sponsor you to join?  What’s the annual cost?  I currently belong up at Classic Pistol, but quickly get tired of shooting targets only 25yds away.  Email me off line.  Perhaps we could get together and dispatch some evil paper sometime.

Langhorne charges $150 initiation fee and $100 a year dues. So it costs $250 to join. You have to do 8 hours of work at the club a year. You can pay an additional $100 a year if you don't want to do the 8 hours work (to me that is pointless. I WANT to work on my gunclub.). You do not need a sponser. I didn't have one. However they put you on "probation" for the first year if you do not have a  sponser. I guess this just means they can throw you out if you fuck up. No big deal to me. I doubt I'd be able to sponser anyone since I'm still on probation.

I specifically asked the guy running the inititiation meeting (Chuck) if shooting fast was allowed and he said yes. I told him that I shoot IPSC and I like to practice shooting fast and he said that is no problem. After falls kicked me out I wanted to be perfectly clear about that.

Club ranges :
50, 100, 200 yd rifle range
10, 25, 50 yd pistol/22 range
4 trap fields
30 station walk-thru archery course
25 yd indoor pistol range but it is only open monday night

The club is not actually in Langhorne, it is in New Holland. It is about 2 miles south of the intersection of Buck Road and Swamp Road.

Philadelphia Here!
I do all my shooting at Classic Pistol and BCF&G.

That Langhorne club sounds interesting. Its definitely closer to home than BCF&G.
Is that anywhere near Middle Holland Road?
I think I might have been there before years ago.

I'm in Pittsburgh (live in the Shadyside area).  I do most of my shooting out in Murraysville at Crowfoot Rod & Gun Club.  It's not real fancy, but it's a great place to shoot--outdoor rifle/pistol & trap ranges, indoor pistol range.

I'd love to get together for some shooting and a brew or two.  Keep me informed!

Philadelphia here.
I'm a member at Classic Pistol and South Philly Archery & Gun (on Essington btw. 8th&9th). I'm usually shooting at Classic once a week or so. I'd be very interested in having a get-together someplace in the area and would be willing to put in some organizational effort.

The Langhorn club sounds interesting. Do they allow members to bring guests? It sounds like they have what I'm looking for in a club. Classic Pistol is great, but shooting at 25yards does get old fairly quickly.

Another Philadelphia-burb here in Plymouth Meeting (I just tell everyone I live near IKEA!)  I shoot mostly at Target World at county line and 202 north of Mongomeryville (Indoor pistol and 22 rifle) or French Creek Outfitters in Pheonixville (same indoor pistol and 22 rifle).

There is also Kimberton Rod and Gun (near French Creek Outfitters) but I have not found a sponsor yet...

Anyone else know of local ranges?  Langhorne sounds interesting...

From what I've heard ATGLEN SPORTSMEN'S CLUB is a real nice club .
I found this Information on  the snipercoutry web site :

Located off Route 41 North past Avondale, about twenty minutes past the intersection of Route 41 and Route 1.

Features two rifle ranges, one with 25/50/100 meter ranges and the second up to 500 meters.  There are plans to expand the 500 meter range to 600 meters pending acquisition of nine acres adjoining the club in the next year.  Sighting gongs are available up to 300 meters on the 500 meter range.

No restrictions on rapid fire; however, automatic weapons are prohibited.

Membership is $75 for first year, $55 for each subsequent year -- new members must attend a membership meeting (held monthly on the second Tuesday of each month) to join up.

Other facilities include indoor range, 25 meter handgun range with bowling pin table, dedicated blackpowder range, archery range, skeet field and sporting clays.

BTW I think they're AR friendly. They have a link to AR15.com on the website. After the holidays I plan on taking a ride out there I'll keep you posted . If one of you deside to go scout it out give us a report on what you find .

I'm in Lancaster County.

I'm up for a get together. I have a small range I go to that is pretty nice. 25/50/100/200 yd targets. There are 4 lefty & righty sitting benches for the 50/100/200 yders, and 1 sitting bench surrounded by a long bench. There are 6 target stands for each 50/100/200 yd area, and 8 for the 25/pistol one.

I could probably let 5 people get in. There usually is nobody there, and it is definitely AR friendly. No round per mag limit, and no X seconds between each shot rule. While rapid file is discouraged, as long as it is controllable they don't mind. There are no range officers, but sometimes there are some people in the office.

Anybody in? It shouldn't be more than 30 to 45 minutes from York city for the York folks.

Well I'm pretty sure Philadelphia_GunMan has shot USPSA matches at York IWLA - 2nd Sat but 2nd Sunday for 2003. If you wouldn't hang out in New Joisey and come to the Ikes matches www.geocities.com/paipscshooter/, you might meet him!

We usually get a couple GMs from MD, VA who could use some competition. (they don't get it from me)
