Taking the Land Cruiser in.

$66 for two year registration. I am going that route.

I love AZ!

32 bucks a year to red for ed, and emissions tests??  Sorry, don’t share your enthusiasm.  Your landcruiser must be 50 years old

Yeah, it is a drag.

Pieces of shit are paid for.

Not really pieces of shit.

$66 is cheap compared to, let's say... California.

Oh, it's a 97 with under 100k on the clock.

Yes, cheap compared to California and many other places.
But that DPS tax pisses me off

Just pay for the one year. After January, the 32 goes away. And no, they don’t prorate. Just just get one year and next should be a lot cheaper

It’s technically the red for Ed tax. When teachers got their extra money , they had to take the money from somewhere... so it was public safety. This is a way to “pay it back” while also making it look like public safety is getting more money.

Mine use to be like $20.  I just paid almost $60.  What the fuck is this $30 "Safety Fee"?

Not so fast , if it's not the $32.00 it will be something else . They live and breath to find new ways to pick our pocket and waste our tax dollars. Red for ed is a fucking joke , public education is being held hostage by the left wing socialist teachers union who's agenda is to indoctrinate the kids . It is never sound practice to reward poor performance , the kids deserve the same quality education we all had .

I just renewed mine last month for 2 years and don't remember seeing that $32 deal on mine. I'll check it as soon as I get it back from getting an oil change from the dealership.

Dang! Is it a 40th Anni or have triple lockers?  I still miss my 1996 LX450 but she was getting high on the miles and I low on funds at that time... (320k)
Must be nice driving a LC now with current gas prices!

Try going through the hassle of emission testing a 1970 VW Bug in AZ every year

Edit: wrong terminology.

We are a red state. I have never understood why we have this bureaucratic emissions test requirement. They don't even test your admissions - just plug into your cars computer. Complete waste of everyone's time, except whoever owns the check station - that seems like a solid business.

My tags r due for my older (1986) camaro.  $6.25 for the actual registration.  $6-8 in taxes, $25 for the custom plate and the $32 DPS fee.  Thankfully it's under classic car and no emissions

Ok i am corrected

"The fee will remain at $32 for fiscal year 2020 and fiscal year 2021 … then drops to $0 by July 1, 2021”

I thought it was calendar year. It’s fiscal 2021. So 7 months to go

Tried this route awhile back, some hassles hung me up. Maybe try again.

Does anyone know if the 32 fee is worked into a 2 year renewal right now for the second year?

Its 126 for 1 year and i have the breakdown for that and it includes the 32. The 2 year is 198, but i dont have the breakdown, just the total.

Just trying to figure out if to get the one year and have to renew again next year or if since the tax is supposed to be gone, they dont have it worked into the second year and just get the 2 year.

I did the two year since I am lazy.

The $32 safety fee was a one time fee. Whether one or two year it was $32.

All that I paid more for with a two year renewal was $1.50 for Air Quality Fee and $10 for License tax. Less than double each than with a one year.

Cool, thanks.

It was seeming like it was one time fee since it is less for the second year, didnt seem like there was enough in there for a second 32 dollar charge.

The $32 fee sucks.

It costs more to register my classic due to the historic plate fee. No emissions requirement, though.
