So today I went to go out shooting on BLM land at a place I used to go.  It is south of Goodyear next to sonoran desert national monument.  I got out there and there are signs everywhere that say
"BLM managed land, fire restrictions in place no shooting"

Get home and look on the BLM website and I don't see fire restrictions in place.  Are they just signs they forgot to remove and it is good to go or is there still a restriction since the signs are up?

My guess is that it is a sign they didn't take down. I may or may not have a close relationship to the BLM.  Call the local BLM office, probably Phoenix or Sonoran, and ask for the Fire Management Officer, also known as "FMO". He / she will definitely know. That, or give the State Office a call and ask for the FMO. They are good folks.
You can't go by the signs as "they" implement or cancel restrictions and sometimes a sign gets missed. Get in touch with the FMO. Another good source of info is the Law Enforcement folks out of the Phoenix Field office or BLM state office. They are the ones that are going to bust you.
One more source is calling the Phoenix office and asking for a "Resource Specialist".
They can also fax you a copy of the restriction in place, or the lifting of the restriction. Always good to have in the glove box.
Hope this helps - not like I know anything about the BLM......just guessing here

Great, glad to help, I sort of know how they work. Anyone shoot me an email or IM if you ever have any BLM or Az State Property questions. Just watch out for anything that is Az State Property, and for some reason it won't be signed but you get the ticket.

Dam Forest Service and BLM seem driven to keep us off of OUR land!

I find it hard to believe they 'just forgot' to remove those signs........GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

My fav shooting hole had signs up as well, long after the fire restrictions were lifted.

No, they honestly do forget. One crew can put them out, they get replaced by another crew that doesn't know where the first crew put the signs. Alot of the people that post this stuff are seasonal and sometimes, info doesn't get passed from one crew to another. They also have crews from out of state to help and that adds to the confusion.
Just call your local BLM office and ask for Law Enforcement or the Fire Management Officer.
