I am going to be in Yuma this weekend (until Tuesday) What are my "must do" things for this place.  I have never been to AZ before at all, so It will all be new to me.

Thanks.

Usually the first thing I do when I get to Yuma is to dive like hell until I get back to Phoenix.

Um, lets see, go to the In-n-Out Burger. Go watch the USMC Harriers.

Ehh...other than sweat, you can go tour the territorial prison, check out the two casinos, ummm...drive 4th Avenue or go to the movies.  Thats about it here in Yuma.  Not much to do, which is why we go to San Diego or Phoenix.

+1 on Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park -- if they still made them like that, there would be a lot less repeat criminals!

Yep, San Diego is the best way to enjoy Yuma...  But if you have to stay, hit the river or stay in the A/C...

Mr. Cadle, how is the Taj Majal?

The only people that "visit" Yuma are the snowbirds in the winter.

People that visit Arizona in the summer time usually go someplace further north.

Spagues= Little overpriced..

Foothills Firearms=Decent, but small

Superpawn=  Well, its a pawnshop with some guns......

Cool Gun Stores...... if you can stomach the prices, Sprague's new store is kinda cool. And they have an indoor shooting range with a bunch of guns for rent.

Sorry studio, I haven't checked this thread in a bit.  How goes it?  I moved across the street, so I try to stay away from the glass palace as much as possible.  BTW, I need to talk to you soon about some studio equipment.

As far as gun shops go, I stay away from Sprague's like it is the plague.  Foothills Firearms is pretty cool and the guy is real nice out there.  Other than that, if you want to shoot, I will shoot with anyone, any day.  Just drop me an email.

To bad I am late, but it is a lot of fun to go out shooting jackrabbits.  They are everywhere, then of course booze excessively.

I worked in their building about 10 years ago and it was cool.
Outside they were going up in Hueys and jumping out.

you can always go out to YPG and watch the jump school out there.....  Not much in the summer, but its pretty cool to watch.
Working out there we get to watch them all the time.

My cousin is a jumpmaster at that school.  Got to visit him and see him in action a few years ago, was pretty nice.

The most exciting place in Yuma is the Cracker Barrel!  Actually, Algodones Mexico can be kind of fun.  Just don't go down there with guns or ammo or you may not come back.  El Tapatio resturant (the one with the big tree in the middle of it) with the Mariacci band is pretty good and The Green Door is the local night spot (read: girlie bar).  You can get a beer for $1, good haircut for $3, get your teeth cleaned for $25 and an eye exam and perscription glasses for $35.  Avoid the "ironwood" carvings.  They tend to break after a year or so.
