I am quitting the classic car thing.  I've had it up to here with breakdowns and expensive ass parts.  I wanted to find out what the best quad out here is?  Im not interested in racing.  I just want to go sight seeing and four wheeling.   With that said,  what's a decent quad for a guy who's 6'6'' and 300lbs....?

I ride a Yamaha Raptor 660, it more of a sport quad though. Sounds like your looking for a utility quad. The Yamaha Grizzly 660 is pretty good also.

The Raptor is a great ATV, and so is the Grizzly. If your not interested in racks, hauling cargo, and considering your size and weight, I'd suggest a Bombardier DS 650. They're a big, comfortable, powerful bike, ideal for big folks. Where in AZ are you fellow's located? I'm in Tucson, and I'm always looking for new riding buddies.

I ride an underpowered piece of shit, but I'd suggest a Suzuki King Quad or a Polaris 700 EFI.

So more in line with the Hunting/4x4 quads?  As they have bigger engines and are more comfortable?

Nope... just a disgruntled Chevelle owner.

Jeeter, all of the big bore ATV's have their +/-'s. What kind of use is this ATV going to see, what would you like it to do, and what do you plan to steer away from? I'm an ATV freak, so I can help you with some real world experience, as well as info I've picked up from other sources. Are you near the Tucson area?

I've got a Kawi Brute Force 750. I love the hell out of it. The only other bad ass utility quad I would consider is the new Bombardier 800. All the rest are slow.

I'd like to go on site seeing rides like Crown King, or just desert trails.   I am not looking to buy new, as it's just going to get thrashed anyway.  I am in the SW Valley, Avondale area.

If I were looking to buy used, I'd look for a clean Kawisaki Prairie 650, or a Yamaha Grizzly 660. (In that order)
The Brute force is sweet, but so new, finding a used one will be tough. The new Bomb 800 is the baddest yet, but they're BIG bucks.

spob, at 6'6", and 300lbs, he'd look like a monkey humping a football on a 400EX. ;)
It is a great bike though, super reliable, and fun.
