I live in Mesa, and have to be to work in Tempe by 7 am. I would only be able to hunt for about 5 min. before I'd have to pack it up and head to work. It'll be Sat and Sun mornings for me.

you guys using beltfeds or tannerite?
 I would love to go hunting, but don't think a Win Defender 1300 is apropriate. One of these days, I'll get me a huntin shot gun, instead of those takticol street sweepers. really, I'd love to go, but lack the skills/tools/resources |

I'm surprised how many do not hunt. I would have thought at least most of us would be avid outdoorsmen. I can't go this weekend, but I will get out there sometime this season.

I'd go, if I knew what I was doing.
Growing up, my family was not outdoorsy. So I learned nothing about camping, hiking, hunting. I don't think a lone city slicker in the desert, is a good idea. (too much darwin potential)

If you're close to Phoenix, and want to go, I'd be happy to go together. Not much to it, really, besides identifying the species in flight, knowing your lead depending on gauge and animal, and following the rules of the law. The hardest thing is finding a good spot. Dove are very easy to clean and store. I breast them... meaning I don't pluck and such. One thumb right above the anus, with the wings pulled back. Insert thumb and pull up, and breast detaches from the rest of the bird. Peel off the skin, wash good, and put immediately on ice. Takes all of 30 seconds per bird. Bring home, add butter, Oregano, a hint of lime and garlic, wrap in foil, and BBQ. Eeeegads, I am hungry. |

The way I like to cook them is get a package of cornbread stuffing mix, mix it up then spread half in a casserole. Lay the breasts out then cover them with the rest of the dressing. Bake per the package instructions. They come out moist and yummy :).
