It looks like I will be making the 2+ hour trip up there to shoot.  I don't get much of a chance to shoot 3 gun much so I take it when I can get it Neal in AZ

Bring rounds to shoot 100 Rifle, 75 bird. 10 slugs, 100 pistol.

How many runs through the course does the avg shooter get out of the above round counts?

Any idea on fees?

Biggame223, typically they have 4-5 stages as Russ said and the ammo amounts are intended for one run on each for a complete match.  Some people may use more rounds (miss more) on a stage so they usually have you bring more than the required minimum amount in case more is needed.  I typically bring more than required as I can always bring it back with me for another day.  I also bring more in case there is a shooter who comes up short and needs a few rounds and so I can have topped off mags and extra full mags if I need them.  It is always better have more than you need rather than not enough.

Ithaca M37

This one is an odd bird.......it is the only Ithaca 37 that I have seen w/o a "37" prefix.

4+1 is a real PITA ass against the clock.........hehe.

I had a really good time. Things like this let you know your shortfalls in a hurry. Making up some shotgun dummy loads to practice reloading my benelli with. I was happy with my pistol setup. Shooting the rifle stage I should have setup better. I should have shot off the mag instead of my elbows and my 50 yard zero from the previous day seemed to have me guessing on holdovers. I shot to center and each edge of the target but couldn't verify a hit even with both eyes open on an Eotech. was really hoping for a fast close up carbine shootout. Best part was meeting a few more people from the area and see how the fast guys can get it done.

one of the guys in my squad got a huge gash on the back of his hand from that window because he was holding his pistol through it.

Guys clearing that stage fast were dropping the start popper running 20 feet to the barricade. shooting two steel "dogs", shooting 5 off the spinning star. Moving 20 feet to second barrier. Shooting two bottle targets, two "dogs" and a 5 inch plate in about 23 seconds. They were in the barricade port for around 4 to 5 seconds hitting 7 taergets. Fairly wide sweep to the second "dog". Time in this event is everything. Fast guys were fast , IDPA guys were slow. I was neither and was slower. Took me about 46 seconds I think. Two of star were hit but didn't unlatch. Can't wait till next time. Looking for a top ten and I'll be happy.

Great pics Russ.  I was great to finally meet you, next time we need to get on the same squad.  Had a good time shooting with Van462, I could tell by the grin he is hooked. here
I enjoyed the match even though I throughly screwed up the rifle stage.  I was hoping for a CQB stage and/or a regular long range rifle steel match.  Those 5x5 steel squares were a pain with my M4 and aimpoint. big whine inserted he
It was a great time and I can't wait for the next one.

Not sure.  It was TJ at TIGER VALLEY that gave us the instruction.  Carbine class.

I thought it was pretty interesting,  he had us stay at LEAST arm's length from the edge of the barricade, so our weapon would not be exposed.  Ask him about it, next time you see him.

TRG

That's good schooling. Should also have slings for long arms for proper transitions to sidearms.

I'm gonna steal that spot from you.

I finally got a shotgun for these things (870P w/ ghost sights, Choate stock, and 3 rnd. extension), now I have to decide which of my pistols I should use.

1.) Springfield 1911a1

2.) FN Hi-Power

3.) Steyr S40

I'm leaning towards my Hi-Power, what do you guys think?

Personally I would use whichever I tend to carry more, but from a competitive stand point, you may want to use whichever has the highest mag capacity, and whichever you shoot straightest with.

HMMM I shoot the best with my 1911 and Hi-Power, the Hi-Power has 17 rnd mags, I'm faster with the Steyr, but it has express sights which are great for speed, but not accuracy a ranges out past 20 yards.

so I guess the Hi-Power wins.
