I got this emailed to me this morning.  From what I understand, the signature counting is done.  But here's a look at what the other side is doing.

FYI, my apologies for the formatting.  It was forwarded a number of times and there are carrot ends all over the place.

I bolded one or two areas-- interesting that they wanted to hide.  I think it proves they're not interested in checking signatures; they want to DERAIL.

This'll tell you everything you need to know...

PAN (Protect Arizona Now) 2004 Initiative

PAN has overwhelming support in AZ, from both sides of the political spectrum (Dems and Repubs).  Last I checked, it had about 70% support and will probably pass EASILY.

It needs to GET to vote first-- that's what these groups are trying to do.

In addition, some service worker's union is challenging the validity of ALL signatures gathered by everybody because THREE individual signature gatherers weren't AZ residents.

So-- yeah, it will pass IF it gets to vote and IF it isn't derailed first in court.

This is NOT a slam dunk.

They want the voter to produce an AZ Dl or AZ ID card to vote,  IF one cannot be produced you will STILL cast a ballot BUT they WILL confirm you eligibility status before "counting" it.

Voter fraud IS a huge issue,  I for one am not happy about someone voting that is not eligible,  or someone w/ multiple registrations.

I am not happy about showing ID to do anything,  but if we do not try to nip this in the bud we are gonna be screwed on a LOT more issues in the very near future.
