Hello- I grew up in the Dayton area and just moved back with my wife and daughter. I'm looking for a decent rifle range/club in the area but can't find much info on a couple of them.

Anybody have any exposure to the Miamisburg or Middletown sportsman's clubs? Is there anywhere else I look into within a 30-45 minute drive from the Springboro/Miamisburg area?

Yeah, I think Spring Valley is the closest one to the Dayton area.  It was recently updated and looks like a really nice range.

That does look like a nice facility- hoping to find somewhere with 2-300 yards. But I'll check out Spring Valley sometime also.

-- 200 yd has steel target installed, only one with permanent targets but shooters can put out their own in front of the berms
-- there are some shooting rules (the big one is no binary triggers -- do not have so not a big deal to me)

Cowboy Action area is not supervised

There is also one (1) area for action shooting but have not seen anyone use for a while

Membership cost is reasonalble -- cost on their website -- no hours to work and you do not need a sponsor


There is also a private club in Wilmington -- might be a little cheaper than Middletown -- and open 7 days a week -- I honestly think about joining so I can shoot on Mondays (CCFSA)

Sorry for last post OP. It would be at your 45 min drive limit but I belong to a very nice private club near Boston, IN. Its west of Eaton just across state line.

One day a week close all to shoot over 100 down 200 for total 300 yards.

They did a excellent job with Spring Valley. The only thing I wish they had done was a longer than 100 yard lane but outside of that it's excellent

I'm a member at Miamisburg Sportsmen's Club. It's a private club and unfortunately new membership is on a waitlist right now. But if you show up and shoot events there (USPSA, Steel Challenge are the two big ones, check out practiscore.com to sign up for those) it's easy to make friends and get two guys to sponsor you to get on the wait list. It has several pistol bays, a small indoor range, and a 50 and 100 yard rifle range.

You also have the Miami Rifle and Pistol Club down in Batavia, its a really nice range and they do all sorts of events there. Membership is open to the public but its like a 2-3 year waitlist right now. I have been on the list since 2018 when I moved back here- I am about 6-9 months out.
