As the title says, start the Police Academy in Jan...Need some black boots, want to try some on instead of ordering blindly....There doesnt seem to be anything around here where I live (A little north of Dayton) unless I am just bad at searching....

AE Davids should be fairly close and worth a try, It's going to be a hit or miss on selection and sizes but they should have something. Troy st in Dayton.

See what the local cops wear. There are hundreds of boot styles and most are "styles" rather than features. Avoid nonsense features like zippers, etc.

I know you said you didn't want to order blind, but check out haix (haix-bookstore.com). Best quality, most comfortable footwear I've ever worn. Even after I retired I contribute to wear them daily.

They are a little known German bookmaker. All mail order, unless you go to Kentucky to their store. I ordered and returned pair before I figured out how they fit me. I order then a half size smaller than my typical shoe size.

Check then our for sure, you will not be let down.

Might wanna try the copshop right in downtown Dayton, maybe on 3rd or 5th street? Help me out here guys... The owner I believe is retired LE. Try to keep you money local and with a brother, just my thoughts.
