Would you please take a few seconds and post how long it took to get your CCW permit?
Please consider the start date the day you handed all your paperwork in and the end date when you picked your permit up. This will allow future applicants the opportunity to see what county around them is fastest and who will keep them waiting longer. Thank you. |

"I suggest you give the tampons back to your sister and spend some of your cigarette money on trauma dressings."
Couldn't you use night vision and check them? Or does light discipline prevent that? |

Just so we have a reference...
I renewed my Florida non resident permit. Sent in the paperwork on 11/28/12, got the new permit in the mail 1/7/13. So just about 5 weeks turnaround time. I think it was $112 and it went from a 5yr permit to a 7yr. Not bad considering I won't have to deal with this again for 7 years! |

Why do you own a fire extinguisher when you have the fire department to protect you???
Elected officials should wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers so we could identify their corporate sponsors. |
I got mine back in 04. Spent one day taking the class and one day getting the permit. My last renewal took about 2 weeks.

Montgomery county said they would call me back in 45 days to pick up my renewal. That's better than the 12 week wait just to make an appointment in Butler.
Update: took 30 days to get a call back my permit was ready. On the upside their pickup desk is open 24/7. |

Had to wait a month to get my appointment with the sheriff due to high volume though. I guess technically you can add that time in to make my wait a month and 36 hours. |

It took over a month to get an appointment for my renewal (submitted June 28). Just a funny side note: They have a good group of galls there. While I was waiting in the office one of the girls got on the phone and asked if the 'Devil' was there, then hung up. I took a seat at her table and asked if I heard that right. She looked at me and said "shhh here he comes", and in walked this deputy with a real unfriendly look on his face. We both just about lost it. |

Applied for mine last year. Was in the Reserves so I tried bypassing the training by proving my military service. Summit county (my residence) wanted me to go through a ton of hoops to prove it.
I drove my happy ass down to the Portage Sherrifs Office in Canton. Drove down the following week to get it. EDIT: I meant Stark. Apologies. |

I renewed at Wayne Co. Sheriff's today at 9am. Left at 9:20, permit in hand. As long as all you paperwork is in order, it is quick. There was a couple in there before me on their first permit. Wayne takes 24hrs on a new applicant, and mails the permit to your residence.
Medina is 6-8 weeks out. bigohio |
