Well, ArmdCtzn & I have spent the last few weekends and nights off building our latest monstrosity.  It is a fully functional Bowling Ball Mortar, adjustable for range and windage.  With a quarter pound of powder it should give a 16lb bowling ball 15-20 seconds of “Hang time”.

Dunno, We are a bit worried about the bowling ball hitting the berm and rolling back to the line at 100+MPH.  We talked about filling 1 gallon paint cans with concrete to shoot but they are too small.

just wrap a cat around the can for use as a sabot.  Jam it down, you're good to go.

Is that a high pressure gas cylinder?

Can it be aimed at someone, say a local liberal politician for instance? I'll provide the ball. Something devilishly poetic about Eric Fingerhut's last waking moment seeing a swirly polyester sphere coming at 450fps. Gives me the giggles.

I picked up a ball that does not fit my hand for a buddies bachelor party. I'll donate it to the cause. Did you build an armored shelter for the test launch? I guess if a driveshaft morter did not kill us than the gas cylender won't either (hopefully). Looks kewl, I can't build that kind of stuff because I live in a neighborhood where mortars are looked down apon. How about  a sabbot for Mr. Softie?

Please explain???  Have the strippers resorted to this now?

Yep and yep.  But not everyone is hard core enough to PERSONALLY deliver their entry!

Take a good look at the 2006 World Champion Bowling Ball Mortar.

Not ours but here is some video from last year's shoot. The red one is shooting 25lb concrete balls.  Listen to the air whistle through the holes in the bowling ball when the balck one fires.  Time the air time on that one too!

I never saw the original pic

I wonder if you could make a mold for your ammo and find a cheap plentiful material to use in the mold?

I got the original pic pack up.  Hunt101.com is hosting the image, I am not sure why but I lost two of the pictures in my gallery and a pig (anybody else see the humor in this) showed up in its place.  Never had that happen before.  Anyhow, I uploaded the pic again and fixed the link.

Is this implement of destruction going to make an appearance at Miller's on tax day?  I ask because I just found a suitable projectile for it on the side of the road last weekend.
