***CALL OFF THE HOUNDS, SEE BELOW****

I am looking for a Taurus Tracker in .357, 4" or 6.5" barrel.  The supply around central OH seems to have dried up.  I sometimes see them advertised for $299, however as of late they have been hard to find let alone at that price.  If you see one at your local shop or in an ad at a decent price, can you let me know.  I do not mind driving (especially for a new toy), so just about anywhere in Ohio is game.  I have a WTB ad in the EE, but thought you local guys might be able to help as well.  Thanks for looking. Here is what they look like.....

BTW, for the finder I offer a tall frosty Miller Lite and a box of WWB .223

Did you try CDNN?

New or used for 299? That is less than dealer price for new.

399.00 NIB at MC sporting goods in Strongsville.....That is last week when I was there.
Good luck Bro. I used to have one I traded for a 1911. One of the best double actions I've ever had!

Try Gunbroker, there's a few for $350-$400, and have it transferred.

CDNN has several for $299, but they're in .45acp & .45LC.

I'll check my sources...see if I can find any in my area next time I'm scrounging.

I had the 4" model and it was a sweet shooting gem,I just couldn't deal with the foot long flames that came out of the barrel ports when I used full house magnum loads,at the indoor range it was scorching the walls next to me.I traded it to another Ohio member for a S+W which my grandson quickly laid claim to.

It was last year around this time.  Buckeye Outdoors had them new at that price.  I knew that I should have jumped then.

Thanks for the offers to keep an eye out.  If you see one let me know.

Call off the hounds boys!!!   I found what I was looking for, well sort of.  I found a Taurus M66 in .357 with a 6" barrel, 7 shot, no porting.  My search led me to this little beauty for $280, plus $20 shipping.  I couldn't pass it up at that price.  Here are the pics.  I will give you guys a report when she arrives.

I've a 608 with a 8 3/8 barrel.    I can say that they shoot as good or better than a Smith.    I got to get a scope on it.

Thank goodness you found something.  I've got the exact model you pictured at the top, a 627 6" in stainless.  I picked it up for $175 from a friend who needed money quick, and I'd hate to have to choose between it and a profit.  It would be like selling one of the kids.
Like aegis says, Taurus makes some great guns.  Enjoy your M66!

Well, she arrived at the FFL today.  Here is a pic.  I am very pleased with the condition.  I would consider this to be like new, and for only $280 I am extremely pleased.

Very nice.

I think you should bring it over so I, I mean you, can test it out and see if I, I mean you like it.

No prob.  That's the least I could do for a range fee.

That's a great deal on a nice gun.  Some people don't like Taurus pistols but I think their revolvers are excellent quality for the money.

Well, I have seen some nice bullpup conversion kits for them.

I have a blued version of that exact same gun.

It is easily one of the best pistols I own and is probably my absolute favorite.

Pretty sweet!  I think your gonna like it, Taurus has come a long way since their crappy offerings years ago. I have a Tracker in 45Colt that I like alot, damn accurate and fun to shoot w/handloads.

The next time we meet up maybe we can swap a few cylinders.....

 cheers,

    Mike

:::heh:::

Looks good.
I like the plastic guns as much as any others.....

I'm also happy with all of the Taurus handguns I've gathered up in the recent years.
Reliable, and a good value.

Thus far, I have a .32 magnum with CTC grips, a .22 Tracker with 6" barrel, a .357" and .17 HMR with 12 " barrels, and a 24/7 .40 pistol. They all cycle as well as anything else I have.

How do you like the 24/7?  I have handled one and it felt very nice.  I am seriously considering getting one.  Tell me the pros and cons that you have noticed with it.  I figure if it was the NRA gun of the year, it must be ok.

I like it just fine, considering what I keep it for. Self defense. The trigger is long and heavy, but that's OK with me. With adrenaline flowing, I'd have no problem pulling it.
It's comfy, recoil is a little snappy -but not at all intimidating-. I've run about  900 rounds through it, with various ammo, and it's been fine with all of it.

Mine came with two mags. A ten and a fifteen. I have an M6 light snapped on the front of it.
I like enough to consider getting another in 9mm soon.
