Well, I missed the Fun Show today, like I do pretty much every month.  Working weekends sucks!

Was there anything worth me burning vacation time to buy?  Were there any good deals on Garands (tankers especially), Saiga .308's, M1A stuff, or any good deals period?  The last time I went, it seemed like there was way too much pure crap there.

Did anyone score today?

I went on Sunday morning with my brother, father, best friend and daughter.  I went for the main purpose of having a Tru-Glo sight put on my Glock 23 and had some very professional service from Nick Vigliucci.  But the show wasn't that great IMO.  I walked the show and didn't really see anything that interested me.  I haven't been to a gun show in a long time but I think that is a first for me, going to a show and not finding at least ONE gun I wanted to buy.  lol

My brother and I picked up a pair of matching un-issued unfired SKS' still in cosmoline for $300 (for the pair, after taxes)

The ammo was bought at Dicks, cleaned them out.  They only had 520 rounds :-D

I saw those 50 cals there, but they aren't really in my realm of possibility so I didn't count them.

I saw the stack of those SKS's as well. They were very nice. Too bad I was there after a Swiss K31. I didnt find one there worth buyin but someone came to the shoot with one that was. I got a better deal then the guys at the show could have offered and Im very pleased with the gun.

Picked up early CAI assembled STG58. Its on an Imbel gear logo reciever and an obviously excelent condition parts kit, bore is very shiny and sharp. Didn't notice one thing until I got it home. I bought an Imbel stripped reciever a couple of years ago to build a FAL (which I never got around to). Inside the mag well, the date of manufacture is stamped into the metal to comply with the AW import ban. The CAI has no date on it anywhere. Could it be a pre ban reciever?

edited to ad pic and question:
How is the muzzle brake put on? (pin and weld, silver solder?) would like to get an original STG58 FH for it.

Actualy, since it is a CAI gun, I just ordered an STG58 parts kit, in case it needs some fixing as I've heard CAI is prone to. If it dosn't need anything out of the kit, soon I'll have TWO STG58s

just a note, Goodman in Cincy (Sharonville) this weekend 28/29.

Frankly, they are usually pretty lame, but it usually more entertaining than a matinee movie, for about the same cost.
