A casualty of the PC local gov't.  Too bad they can't let the individual owners decide if they want to be smoke or non smoke.  Will their brew still be available at other retailers?  Or are they 100% done?  A local non-restaurant micro like Miami Trail perhaps?  Mabye they will move down the road to Washington or Miami Twp.  to get away from the ordinance.  I noticed that the long-closed Grindstone Charleys on 741 by the mall is undergoing some renovation mabye they are moving there.  Oh well.  If you like wings, the old Cooker at 725/Lyons has re-opened as a Fricker's after being vacant for 24 months.

Well once again I had miller's all to myself today and decided to run up to the Thirsty Dog after shooting to refill a few growler's. They were out of my favorite brew and when asked when they would have more, I was informed that as of closing time saturday evening they are no more. a victim of the centerville no smoking ban, thier buseness has fallen by 60% and will close for good saturday. mmk

I never cared for Thirsty Dog. Micro brew beer always tasted too sweet to me, and to be honest, the couple of times I had been there, their service sucked. That aside, its a shame they are going out of business due to some local governemnt over stepping their bounds.

For those of you non-smokers that are okay with smoking bans on public places (i know your out there and read this board), this should be a wake up call to you as at some point their going to take away something you do care about.

I think the Canton one is done too.  Last I was there it was barren on a Saturday night.  The one micro-bre joint here that used to sell LegHumper ran out the other night and said that was it, no more to be had.  Too bad.

ok, well i officially went to the final night of the Thirsty Dog

had the bayou chicken finger sandwich, got to sample the ribs and had an Irish Setter Red on draft

it was pretty good--great atmosphere--too bad they are closing

hubby left with a half price tshirt, kirk bought a budweiser sign right off the wall and we were all in agreement that empty kegs would make GREAT targets

I hate to see this happen, especially as a result of another  law that this city didn't need.

What time were you all there? I took a ride through the parking lot on my way home but didn't see any vehicles I recognized, so I headed home.
