Its that time of year again guys.

The invasion of Normandie will begin on the shores of Lake Erie in Conneaut Ohio on September 18.

This year there will be more and bigger toys.  Our units 150mm canon will be providing support for us poor souls defending the beachhead.

There will be action around the canon with the dirt darts of the 82nd AirBorne this year.

If you like History and historical weapons of all types, this is the place to be.  There will be encampments, by the Germans, American units of all types, the Brits, and the Poles.

A documentery of the battle will also be filmed at the event, and there will be a flag tribute to the allied nations involved.  Yes the French too.

Get there early, battles start at roughly noon and a few hours later.

This is the 4th event at this site and it gets better every year.  Come out and watch me get killed!

They were there....in a helocopter up so high you could barely see them.

I know they went on to do fils shoots in Europe right afterwards.  I havent heard a thing since.

81mm mortar.  They are damn good.  I have seen them hit a moving vehicle at 200M with it.

Not all of the guys in the picture are in our unit. (visitors from other units) And in the last picture, that is not me on the Mg. I am to his left.  We are training him on the gun.

Is this event still on???

After A LOT of BS, yes it is.  The weather should be bad though, and tempers will be short after some of the BS that has gone on.  A Lot of the "N" word being slung around this year slandering some people who do not deserve it.

I'll be there, but mentaly, I am wasted.  I am going to sell my blanks and sit around and talk to the vets.  I don't know if I am going to participate or not.
