First of all ....... WELCOME BACK!!!

I got a call on Tuesday from the Sheriff's office that I can come and get my license. I could not make it today so I am going first thing on Thursday morning to pick it up.
I just wanted to share the news!

What does it look like? Cheap plain paper or nice laminated with a picture?

Don't know if it is paper or laminated, but packing.org has a picture of what the permit looks like:

Hey guy's!

The license looks just like the posted picture above (except I don't look like a printer) and is made exactly like your drivers license.

I applied in Wayne County on 04/21 and was told to pick up the license on 04/29 barring any issues with the background check or equipment.  I was told that they would call me if there are issues.  Otherwise, don't bother calling to check the application status just go pick it up in 8 days, M-F between 0800 and 1630.

For those of you who do not want to putup with Swanson's Stark County by appointments only bullshit, Wayne is the next best thing.  No appointments but will only accept applications on M-W.  Wayne took in 55 applications on the first day that they started to accept applications where Stark will only do 9 a day should tell you that Swanson is not interested in your right to life and liberty.

Hancock County (Findlay)

I submitted my application on 4/20, the Sheriff's Dept called 4/26 and left a message for me to come pick up my CCW license.

In risking being accused of playing "mine is faster than yours" game, my permit was issued/printed on 4/25 (applied on 4/21).  Had I known about that, I could have picked it up on Monday, 4/26 from Wayne County.  I wish I remember the clerk's name in Wayne.  He told me that he only gets paid for 20 hours per week for processing the CHL applications.  He is a retired Wooster cop.  He works more than double the paid hours per week just so that the citizens may get their CHL ASAP.  The fact that my CHL was printed on a Sunday shows that's no BS.  He is a great American.

Beck's boyz gave me the run-around with mine, so I went to Auglaize county for it.  He did a good job of talking "Pro-CCW" - but when it comes down to handing them out.....

I figured screw 'em.  Somebody is going to make $45 doing a background check.  If Allen county doesn't want my money - I'll spend it elsewhere.

Got mine 4/26/04 - Auglaize county #000044.

Greene County - #320 - Applied 4/20 - Printed 5/5 - picked up today - Woo-hoo!!!

Is it just me, or does the print look ridiculously huge compared to a Drivers license?

I think the back would look better if it had a big state flag, just my $.02

That's because the cops hands will be shaking so bad, due to civilians having guns, it'll be hard to read.

I went to Madison Co (London), west of Franklin Co (Columbus).
The officers were really cool, and enjoyed showing off the new computer system, and equipment.
They said about 80% of their business is from Franklin.
My app was about #1500 and they said about 2 weeks is the turnaround.
Very quick process to fill out application there.
