Been working on the tripod for the 1919. Made some spacers to limit the travel. Seemed to realy help the function. Much easier to keep the "BUMP FIRE" going. Ran a 250 rnd belt through it this evening. Only had two stoppages but the trigger was reset and I didn't have to cock it again. Just hit the trigger again.
I'm going to take a spare backplate and cut the grip off. Make a new secondary trigger bracket and a grip that attatches to the tripod.
This should let me shoot without the T&E conected, allowing for free aiming just like on an AA tripod.
Hopefully this will compleatly eliminate all stoppages. ROCK AND ROLL baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy T-day guys.
Sat at 1:00 sounds good to me. Ive been out in the shop all day working on Betty. Have the trigger done and refinished. Also have the pistol grip done and mounted to the tripod. It's been raining all day and I haven't got to test fire yet. Every thing seems to be working like it should though when dry firing. Hopefully I can test it tomorrow.
Gman are you going to bring that bolt and carrier with you?
Brian, I can bring you some ammo. I realy can't rember what I paid for it though. I'll check on some sites and try to find out how much it is. Do you still have that red dot sight? If you want to sell it just bring it with you.

[#21]
I'll bring the red-dot Paul. SA 55 grain FMJ is about $3 per 20 if you buy 1000 rounds from J&G sales. Of course Iam at your mercy

Happy Thanksgiving ya'll

I've also got an unopened case of Winchester from the show last month. That was only $150 or$160 a case. let me know.

[#24]
Sien there is a show in Sharonville this weekend. It will probably suck as usual. Thougt I might stop in to see if there is any ammo though. I only have one case for the AKs.
If they have Wolf do you want some? 55grain or 62grain or does it matter?
It,s still raining and snowing so I haven't fired Betty yet.
Well I need to get out in the shop and make a buffer extension for the other 1919 (she needs a name) so it will work with the a6 butt stock and crank-fire. Hopefully then I can hit something with it on the A-A tripod.

YEs Paul. If they have 55grain FMJ Wolf pick me up 1000 rounds and I'll pay you saturday. ID greatly appreciate it.

Hey guys, my arms starting to feel better now so maybe next time I'll be %100 when we shoot pool

Paul, a guy at work brought in an old computer and gave it too me(huge tower). I figure I'll hold on to it and you can test Betty and Wilma out on it

I've been collecting a rather large pile of computers and parts that I can add to the target pile.  Though the one board thats been a dirty bastage for way to long gets the shotgun!

I could make a really smartass comment about your arm, but I won't.

BTW, I'm glad to hear your arm is better.

HEY NOW! From one smartass to another I demand to hear it HIPPY! Its like EdSr's quote says, "No appology necessary among friends".

I like your thinking TZ. Im gonna have to bring the old stevenson out next time!

[#30]
Since you insist. Your hand must've slipped while you were jerking off and your arm hit the steering wheel. There, you have heard it.

Hippy??? Damn right I am.

So, am I going to have to go to wallyworld and buy a case of shotgun shells???

Link Posted: 12/10/2003 2:50:55 PM EDT
[#31]
Yea, whatever dude

Maybe next time we shoot we could shoot skeet?
Link Posted: 12/10/2003 4:58:59 PM EDT
[#32]
I think John said he had a thrower. Haven't shot skeet since I was a little kid.

Link Posted: 12/10/2003 5:30:56 PM EDT
[#33]
I've got a single arm thrower that I got put together Thanksgiving.   Was going to bring it but damn it was cold and I could just picture trying to tweak it with numb fingers sitting in the slush.

Looks fairly easy to work but suppose I SHOULD test it before saying its going to work.   The old shotgun probably hasn't been fired in 30 years but could use a workout.

[#34]
Hey kids, I got my arm back to a good degree (Mike seen the damage I think).

TZ, finally getting that thrower together?

I got an 870 and 3 barrels, and maybe a bunch of shells... and an old side-side>>> needs a stock, old one so old, it just fell apart.

Went to WV for Thanksgiving, did not even bother to hunt, house full of sickies, wifes' cousins' boy had croop, my boy broke out in fever, out for a day and a half, daughter went to hospital (out of town), full blown flu,,,, Anthony-- if he is not out hunting, IT"S A COLD DAY IN HELL--- he not go out for 3 days I know of while we were there. We came home saturday. I have bronchitis winding down, went to doctor last friday.

What happened to your arm Hal?
Link Posted: 12/11/2003 8:53:05 AM EDT
[#37]
9 stitch on outside, 4 on the inside.   Was on a 6ft step ladder, top above the door opening on the shed. Was coming down (standing on 2nd step) when ladder sunk far enough into the wet ground, and top of ladder went into tthe shed door opening. I was standing when the ladder crashed, but was off balance, so I decided to just fall down to ground. On the way down, seen jack stand sitting there, reached over to avoid hitting, but caught my right forearm just below the inner elbow crease, cuaght the corner of the top of the jackstand (1/8" steel plate bent like a "U" on top) and tore my arm open.... 2 1/4" long gash.   I have a couple pics somewhere I'll post up if I can find them.

Damn! Sounds like youve just had a bad streak lately! Get better soon and we'll all meet up for some skeet shooting and whatnot.
