I was there today , it was rather slow and no one wanted to deal on anything but guns. I was working a guy with a scope I wanted, it was like pulling teeth!! I guess I understand times are tuff but man I could not get this guy to deal for nothing.

Not one of the better shows they have had , when is the next Medina show  ?

Yep, I stopped in yesterday.  Picked up some .308 for my recently acquired rem 700.  As a matter of fact, I'm taking it out to GR this morning!

With the Internet coming of age, gun show prices look more and more ridiculous.  Some guy was trying to sell a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40 mil-dot for $400 (SWFA has them for $190).

Went with a pal (Jon) from work. Bought three AK mags for some guys at work, $10.00 each, bought myself two real nice used USGI 30 round AR 15 mags, $20.00 each, and a KVAR green NATO length stock set for my SAR 3, $90.00, OTD. They could have been bought direct from KVAR for $89.00, but then with tax and shipping....Now for the good deal....Jon wanted a AR15...He found a USED XM15E2S, no box, papers, and it was kinda dirty. He wanted $675.00, but would take $625.00 with tax...I said, lets check with Karen and Frank, they're good people...he ended up getting a brand new XM15E25, with all the goodies, hard case, etc, for about $50.00-$75.00 more than the used one!!!Karen even threw in a couple of boxes of ammo!!!!Karen even gave me a box of ammo, which I traded back to her for a new sling....Karen and Frank take good care of their customers. I love a happy ending!!!!PS..Engineer, when are you going to install my stock????????

i went looking for maybe a scope or ammo, but instead i walked out with a XD9 sub-compact w/tac light for $469 (seen the same package on Gunbroker / Guns america for $569).  usually see them for $439 w/o the light.

How'd you guys log on last week? ...
Anyhow I'm now a sar 3 owner as of the previous fun show in Medina. R.S.A. hammer & trigger group just ordered. I thought it a good deal. Sar3, nylon tactical carrying case and 4 mags for $350. Used, looked to be fired once. Looked all over the place for my banker - Danno-man, but he was no where to be found so I had to find an Atm...again.

Anyone up for Grand River soon?

Hey smudge, congrats!!!you'll love it. Mine loves Wolf ammo. You can buy it for about $2.00 a box at Gander Mountain. Engineer just installed my OD NATO Kvar stock on mine today, it looks great!!!!

Ah, you bankers and your hours!

Yeah mmsig, I plan on feeding it a bunch of different ammo types. It'll probably eat them all without a hiccup. What I settle on may depend on group size. I plan on aiming at the center target but checking the groups on the one stapled hi and to the right...

Smudge, aimsurplus has steel 30 rounders on sale now...I think they're cheaper than at the funshows...let me know if you order any, I could use a couple more also....PS,going to Medina this weekend?????? Just checked, they're $17.95 each, usually about 20 clams at the funshows.....

Hay mmsig I'd planned on buying the "sarpset" from interordenance:   http://www.interordnance.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=INTERORDNANCE.com&Product_Code=SARPSET
4 mags in a pouch, cleaning kit & sling for $59.- I thought it was a pretty good deal. Should I order 2?
I'll try and hit the range by noon on sunday. Probably a no go for dinner this time. BTW, the mags are the E. german steel Weigers <sp>

Cool; I think I'll be rolling in about 10:30, too.  That gives me about an hour to cobble something together to raise the comb on my rem 700.

I went for a couple hours this morning; it was beautiful weather.  I was getting close to 1 MOA with my new Remmy, so maybe there's hope!

I'm up for next week, too.  I can't make Sunday, but Saturday should work.

yeah! i got most of my work done today :)

i took my old 10FP out and had to widen part of the forend.  also had to get taller rings.
it's a Shilen #7 barrel.
info from the guy that i bought barreled action from:
"The guy that put it together is Jack Keister Of Accurate Arms.  The bolt was trued, the lugs where lapped, the action was trued and the Savage barrel nut was replaced with Remington recoil lug that was surfaced ground and made true."

I see Leopard-skin velvet....

Seriously, though, Danno, do you like that Choate Varmint stock?  I'm considering one for my Rem 700 just because of the replacable cheek pieces.  I'm not sure about giving up the HS Precision PSS stock, though.  It's an awesome stock except for the comb height.

for the $ it's ok.  i'm looking to get a 700 PSS in 308 and would keep the HS stock.  you could always get an Eagle cheek/butt stock pad.

OK, after blowing all this money... dare I ask if you sprung the $50 for another Harris or are we gonna have to keep watching you do the bipod shuffle?
