I was reading the sac bee today and this gem pops up.

Teen violence can't be ignored

Re "Boy shot during grad party" and "Teen shooting victim mourned," June 10: Many affected and exposed to the violence truly appreciate The Bee's continued efforts to highlight Sacramento's teen/youth violence.

The media (not knowledgable public safety officials) alerted the caring public of teen victims/teen suspects. For decades the cries of families echoed from one Sacramento neighborhood to another. Two more murdered teens place many in a psychological frozen state, while healing is needed.

Officials who were once negligent in addressing the violence are now mobilizing to prevent teen/youth violence.

So many murdered/injured teens (are) shot outside Sacramento birthday parties, graduation parties, in their homes, behind trees, in gutters, in parks ... finally we look toward prevention.

Tracking devices are placed on cell phones; suspects can be located. Tracking devices are placed in cars; stolen vehicles can be located. A $300 sneaker can be purchased with a tracking device to locate missing hikers/children. But we fail to place a tracking device in guns to "prevent" and save lives of many teens who are gaining access to guns. We could have saved the lives of so many lost to morgues and prisons.

- Rhonda Erwin, Sacramento

I was literally loling when I read it. This woman is insane.

Why not put the tracking devices in the teens, instead of in the guns?
