Anyone know the likelyhood of getting a CCW permit in Kings county?

Packing.org's map lists Kings as "unknown" WRT to their issue policy.
They say there were 287 permits in 2004 out of a population of 130K.  That's  a pretty low issuance rate...even for Ca but there are a significant number out there.   Its just a guess based on the numbers, but it looks like permits can be had, but you'd need to know someone and/or have a very strong "need" for the permit.   That tends to be how it works out.... if there's a percent or two percapata with permits its basically shall issue.  If there's a handfull per million its "no issue".  Anything inbetween means the CLEO will write a permit but he needs some special motivation, which means you're a friend, big campagin doner, judge, retired leo, diamond currier, have documented death threats, etc.

Looks like if you can commute from Kern or Tulare county you'd be good to go.
