So, say, if one has a hi-cap magazine for a rifle or a pistol and it's damaged, can you order a stripped magazine body as a replacment?

No laws against that AFAIK, have ordered Glock mag replacement bodies, as long as you don't create new functional "hi cap" magazines with them.  "Use only as directed"

Why did you sell them?  They're great pistols.  I'm gonna send mine off to get some work done soon...can't wait!

No.  I have a bunch of 10 rounders and bought some full cap mags before 99.  

10's are pretty cheap, though.
