They look like this.

Would sprinkle salt or Diatomaceous earth or even coffee but that would take a lot to do a perimeter around the house.
Also, supposedly after any rain, it all gets washed away anyway.

What cost effective method are you using and have found successful?

I found one of them on my house last week. I knocked it off, and stepped on it.
