Contacted all of them. Perry and Clemons got a phone call from me. I know them both personally. Neither of them sounded at all concerned but, I made sure they are keeping it on their radar. Chuck is convinced no gun control is going to pass in Florida. I wish I had his confidence.

I don't see any of these coming close to passing, and even if they did, we have a great governor who will veto them.

Unfortunately, it seems like there won't be a lot of pro-RKBA legislation either, except for slight improvements to "off limits" places for CCW.

I'm concerned that any open carry bills would generate a response from the left that would embolden them to get a constitutional amendment on the ballot to ban open carry (or worse).  It only takes 60% to pass.  Do you think we have 40% support for open carry in Florida?

Bills like these fail to pass BECAUSE gun-owners write letters, make phone calls and send e-mails, en-masse, to their Senators and Representatives demanding that they fail! Remember, it was REPUBLICANS that gave us our last dose of Gun Control just two years ago with Republican Governor Rick Scott beating the drum and gleefully signing it into law. Thousands of Floridians became criminals with the stroke of his pen simply for owning something they purchased legally with their hard-earned, post-taxed money.

Most Republican politicians WILL vote for more gun control unless they truly believe it could cost them their next election. Silence is acquiescence.

Ron DeSantis is a GREAT Governor but he will not always be around to keep the Legislature from doing something stupid.

We keep the 2A through vigilance and action.

Makarov, you have the right idea. Texas_Sig has too much faith in the very people that screwed us over.

No faith in anyone but Jesus.  I'm just looking at reality.

Open carry would be great, but for every action, there is a reaction.

In that case, it would be the anti-RKBA folks getting a constitutional amendment to ban open carry (or worse).  In Florida, it only takes 60% approval on a ballot initiative to change the constitution.  The Republican legislature made it more difficult for out-of-state money to get signatures on a ballot.  That helped keep an AW ban off the ballot.  But the gun grabbers will be back.

I'm just wondering if it isn't a better idea to shore up some of the "loopholes" making it easier to change the state constitution, and planting seeds for future generation (home schooling, etc.) in parallel with supporting pro-RKBA legislation.  Having school choice for ALL parents might be a better long-term strategy than tweaking the laws here or there.

The weak and timid are always afraid to go all out. Stop being weak and timid. Go all out and demand that your rights be expanded. Fuck the game of playing defense. You are defending gun grabbing Republicans.

What works in Wyoming may not work in Florida.

You are conflating "weak and timid"  with not wanting to expose our flanks, which unfortunately with the ballot initiative process and *only* 60% vote required to change the constitution, is our reality.
