house prices in CO are ridiculously high
I now can't afford the homes I used to own 
in the working for a job at MIA whats within 30min drive thats not a dangerzone? or maybe the better question is, where are the places to stay away from? I've spent a lot of time in the Hollywood/FLL area but that was at least 10 years ago now. |

If you think housing was expensive in Colorado you’re probably going to have a heart attack over South Florida real estate. Even in rougher areas of town prices are ridiculous. I’m talking 1200 square feet for $300k-$400k, that’s in a rough area ridiculous. If you’re going to stay near MIA you better speak Spanish too. You may want to check out areas like Plantation or Sunrise, they are ok areas (still, make sure you lock your doors) and pricing is ok vs some other areas. Weston is pretty decent but expensive, and very Spanish now, but they are also very anti 2A Go on Zillow and look around but make sure you’re sitting down first.

from what I'm seeing.. housing costs are better in FL.
Spanish isn't so much of a problem. |

Where is the job located in Miami? There are some good parts without going to Broward.

Looking at the MIA area for a current opening... but would also consider MCO (Orlando) or maybe the Pensacola area
I have family near MCO. |

They are putting up a shit load of new housing near me Boggy Creek Rd and Narcoossee Rd Right now still only a 15 min drive to MCO airport

Miami springs, 2 minute drive to MIA and nice community, Miami lakes, Pembroke Pines and west Miramar if you want to drive a little further, remember 30 minutes isn’t far in Miami traffic.

For Mia I would say Penbroke Pines or Miramar. I would also look at Cutler Bay or as pinecrest6.

Miami-Dade or Broward County would be the last place in America I would relocate to. High crime, rampant corruption, ineffectual police, sky high real estate, insane traffic, most of the population does not understand English, hurricanes......... the list of negatives is endless.

You better figure an average of over $500k for 2000 sq feet in any of these areas, is that really better than Colorado? I haven’t looked the last few years but if that’s the case I’m really kicking myself for not buying in CO when I looked for a summer place there a few years ago.
I agree with JBT, MDPD is much better than most of the surrounding areas. I’m in Parkland and BSO is a joke I’d love to have MDPD. |
