See original thread herehttps://www.ar15.com/forums/general/A-Call-to-all-American-Battle-Buddies-ABB-Updated-Challenge-in-OP-/5-2271929/.
See new thread from Ben here: https://www.ar15.com/forums/general/American-Battle-Buddies-American-Pioneer-Corps-Guidelines/5-2291145/?. He's still working on the concept and fleshing it out with input, including deciding on the formal name. The concern is that the Battle Buddies could scare the normies and attract bad attention. Miami_JBT and I discussed this a bit yesterday, we're thinking of doing a Florida-wide Battle Buddies with hikes scheduled throughout the state. The problem with Florida is its geography. The state is long and narrow, with population concentrated in a few centers. We're thinking it's better at the start to have one chapter that rotates where it meets and hikes. Give us your input, we want this to succeed. ETA: I'm planning a hike 22 Feb 20 at 1pm in Largo on the Pinellas Trail, thread here ETA by MIAMI_JBT This is now the official statewide Battle Buddy thread. We can use this thread to coordinate and post upcoming events. |

Let's see who chimes in. Maybe there will be enough interest for a CFBB chapter. Then we can co-ordinate regional meetups. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Central FL as well Ive hosted hikes before in the ONF and have been debating starting them back up. Its pretty much 45-1 hour drive for most. Camo packs and gear doesnt bat an eye. Can road march it or hike the Fla trail. |

Tampa area....lets see if this goes anywhere. View Quote Attached File |

Titusville so Orlando area would be best for me. I can do Tampa or Daytona; Miami is doable too. So central/south I guess?

View Quote E coast is less than 1 hr whereas Tampa can be almost 2, because reasons <<cough>> 4 <<cough>> But it all depends on day/time and ultimate location. Lets find a critical mass and try to hit locales that can work for most or create subgroups. |

I'm about an hour and a half from either coast, so I'm flexible.

I travel out of state a lot for my job but am definitely interested. I'm in the Tampa Bay Area.
I just got back from Virginia a few hours ago and it was a great experience. |

Volsuia county here so Daytona or Orlando work better for me but I can make occasional treks to Tampa.

I was thinking of this idea and thought "I bet Spartacus puts up a thread in FHTF"
Hey man, Pinellas Trail is 'right there'. We ought to start the hikes now, while the weather is decent. I'm in horrible shape, BTW. 5 years post-heart attack and I'm still not exercising the way I should. What happened in Va is only a matter of time. Shit, we've got issues right now from our so-called republican legislators, much less the dems. |

It's been far too long since I have been to a FL event..
I'm deep in enemy territory in PBC, but consider me interested! |

I'm in South Georgia but I'd be up for getting in on something between here and Central Florida if y'all don't mind out someone from out of state coming down once in a while.

@joker581, I'm on the FL/GA border here in Tallahassee. We can always carpool down depending on where you're at in GA. No matter what....Tampa is four hours from Tallahassee. Whether it is via I-75 in the middle of the State or via US-98 hugging the West Coast. If you take Albany to Tifton to connect to I-75. You make it to Tampa in about 4.5 hours. So if we were to meet. It would be at Lake City. Because if you came down to Tallahassee. It would add an hour of travel time to you no matter what. |

East central here, and Id be totally into this. We definitely need to start getting together and strategize on several issues. If we are voting I think central FL would be ideal and much easier to get more members involved. The northern and southern guys will have to drive a bit further though. Maybe alternate the hikes each time north/south a bit to relieve some of their drive times.

Yearling trail
Its a 5.5 loop. But. If we start at the Pats island trailhead for the FT and end back at it. That should put us right at 6 miles total length. Trail isnt bad. Minimal terrain change. And has a cool history. Plus the FT is there. Worse case bust out two hikes in one weekend. Lol. |

Tag and bump interested I live in the Apollo beach, Ruskin and surrounding area. So I'm open to Tampa bay

I'm in for the comradery. I was in Richmond and am still jazzed from it.
I was in the FloridaMan House with RINO_HUNTER and BROWARDMASON...and guys from 5 other states. With M4REAL and Black Fox stopping by for beer and bourbon. We learned a lot...especially that we need to get organized and get off our asses to fight for what we've always enjoyed as our rights. They'll be coming after all of us at some point. If you've seen the pics of Black Fox with his shield at Richmond, the rest of us Fl guys are in there. It was F'in freezing! But worth it. And when I say comradery, I'm getting old and need to save the knees for when I really need them. |
|
I'm in for planned, rotating hikes. I think once members become more experienced and organized we could look at breaking it into more localized chapters.
