Would like to keep a gun handy on the boat since I fish offshore.  What holds up in those conditions and how do you keep yours handy?

I take a 6 inch barrel S&W.45 Colt.  Hard chrome finish.

870 Police Marine Magnum model 25047 . There not easy to come by and there not the regular marine Magnum all forged parts .

Pistol ~ .357 Magnum Stainless ~ Ruger GP100 or Smith Wesson 686 4 inch or 6 inch

Shotgun ~ Remington 870 Marine Magnum Pump or Mossberg 500 Marine Magnum pump 12 gauge...

Rifle ~ Ruger Mini 30 > 7.62 x 39 stainless or AK rifle...

Think of guns not to expensive in all stainless / zinc finish that can hold up very well against the harsh salt water environment that you don’t mind getting roughed up out in the open...

I’m all for finding a reason to buy a new gun, but my serious answer is just put your edc in a gallon ziploc bag.

Just a cheapo CZ 82 and an extra mag in a waterproof box with all my other stuff, phone, handheld GPS backup, binocs and camera.

I’ve never had any issues with Glocks and used to fish for a living so the weapons spent plenty of time in a saltwater enviroment.

870 Marine Magnum and G20. Good thing our boat can outrun most others so if trouble arises we will just haul ass.

I'm going to go with a full size 40 cal. in stainless/poly.  Probably a Ruger since they make a 15 round in 40 cal.  I have to admit that I was temped by the Hi-Point carbine chambered in 10MM.

Glock. My 19 went under when I capsized my boat. Rinsed in hot water, cleaned, and oiled. Still shoots perfect 15 years later.
