Lakeland is my favorite show, BUT I'm going to pass.  It's already the busiest show around; I don't want to deal with it 10 times busier.

Friend of mine is there now from Tampa, says he wishes he had stayed in bed. Said no, there's no cheap 223 anywhere, and everybody's there to scalp something. Stripped lowers for $350, a mini 14 for $1400, $1900 AR's...and like someone above said, it's ten times more crowded than its usual crowded. I'm staying home. I was gonna take a box of new GI mags to see if they'd sell, but it sounds like nobody's really buying.

Well, actually, in this market stripped lowers for $350 aren't bad, though I wouldn't consider paying that unless it was something nicer like a Noveske, BCM, Larue, Seekins, etc.

Drove out to it and they declared that they "sold out" of tickets and wouldn't admit any more people.  This is at 3:00.  Told me to come back tomorrow and I said "no thanks."

Yes a couple powder dealers. The one behind shoot straight to the right had the best deals. I did see 500 - 308 rounds for $250. I was going to buy them but I didn't want to carry them around. I did not see any 5.56 for less than $900 a 1K. I did not see a lot of buyers as some one else had said. Shoot crooked as usual had a line though. But they were really short on tables this time.. Never have I seen so many SP1's walikng around.

I got there a little before 8am & there were a couple hundred people in front of me. Somehow another line was formed up in the opposite direction & when I finally made it up to the bottleneck (about 9:21) you had about 6 people abreast handing in tickets & getting stamped by ONE PERSON. The club people did as best as they could, but they did get overwhelmed. Anyway prices were so out of sight that it just wasn't that shocking. You just had to laugh. One guy walking around with a Yugo SKS for $1000. A couple tables with $1150 WASR's! Oh well, wish I had a few to sell I suppose. I had a good time at the show & looked for small stuff. I picked up from 1 table, 2ea Tapco AK 30rd mags, 2ea Chinese AK 5 rd mags & a 30 rd AR 7.62x39 Franken mag for $80. At another table I got 2 grease gun 30 rd mags for $40. Met a guy there & picked up a 91/30 Mosin Nagant for $70. It's going to clean up real nice. Finally, some target 45 (200rds) for about .37c a round. I also sold off some primers which gave me the spending money. It was insanely crowded but the fun is in the hunt just seeing what you might find. I am glad that we have Gun Shows to go to & even if they sometimes are crazy, It's really not a bad way to spend a few hours on a Saturday.

Yeah see, I just wanted to kill a few hours looking around.  I didn't have anything on the list I was really looking for...all I was considering buying were a few ammo cans.  But I can't believe they actually turned people away...the place might have sold its allotment of tickets for the day, but it certainly wasn't over capacity.  People don't stay all day.

I made it into the main hall at about 9:15 and the only powder dealer worth mentioning (old lady to the right) either hadn't had any, or had already sold out.  Didn't sound like she expected to get more any time soon.  In those first 15 minutes there were five or six guys crowded around her table in a line, clutching a couple of pounds each, waiting to be rung up.

Showed up at 10am on Sat.  Line was around the building.  Asked someone about midway through the line how long they had been there, and they said about 45 minutes.  I walked inside just to see the mayhem.  Another line was inside from the ticket booth to the show.  Neither line was moving because the show was already packed to capacity.  Nobody else could go in until people left.  Insane!  I took off.

Yeah you guys didn't miss anything. Me and a buddy went at 830 got in by 915 and quickly scouted everyone only to be dissapointed. Stupid high scalping prices hardly and real vendors. People selling 22LR for 50.00 for 500 rounds. Pretty much any AR was 2K +, we were out within 30-45 minutes. Don't think I saw any 223/556 for less then 1.00 a round. PMags for 50.00 - 100.00 each. Not a single M&P AR15-22 mag to be found :(

What a joke. I'm betting not much was sold!

That would be Fran Clark (Pioneer Dist).  She told me that she had ordered 450 lbs of powder and only 100 was being shipped.  The rest was back ordered.  We complain about not being able to buy stuff and she can't get it to sell.

She was out of cci sp primers by 9:45 or so. They couldn't open the cases fast enough. I went back for w231 powder at 10 and the dude in front of me got the last one.

I couldn't help but to flip what I wasn't going to use. They were in the wrapper, too. A friend told me they were going as high as $100 from a vendor. If that was the case, I wish a brought a few more.
